The name of the paper says it all, and I guess is no surprise for many. The question that obviously arises is what will happen when there’s no human generated content available for those multi-purpose massive models, or the rate of consumption exceeds by far the amount of it. If this thesis proves correct, I don’t think we will have to wait a lot until we see these issues come to the surface. And then the final question would be…what will happen with the business model expected to make zillions from OpenAI, Meta, Google and the like? I do believe though, there are many laser focused applications where AI and LLMs make a lot of sense and solve real, actual problems, let us hope the trend moves towards that… https://lnkd.in/d8V7qAQT #ai #llm #future

Llama 3.1 parity to winning across most AI benchmarks over Google/OpenAI (reasoning, knowledge, solver... OpenAI is actually closed sourced model ;) ) and one key aspect is the 128,000 token context length (the amount of text the LLM can remember). Excited to give this one a run for its money, and will soon be doing an energy analysis to determine how much power it took to train the model..
