This past weekend, #TeamTecton participated in the Tour of the Litchfield Hills charity bike ride for the 8th year in a row, this time with our friends at KBA. Together as Team Architx, we rode in memory of our beloved colleagues Jim Haag, Donna Auclair, and Traci Hillebrecht of Architx, who remain close to our hearts. We’re thrilled to share that with the generous support of our community, we helped raise $2,741 (and counting!) for The Cancer Care Fund of The Litchfield Hills. This incredible fund directly supports cancer care, treatment, education, and prevention for Connecticut residents. A huge thank you to everyone who donated, cheered us on, or rode alongside us! Your support means the world and helps keep the memories of Jim, Donna, and Traci alive through the work we’re doing together.

Our Public Safety team has had an exciting past few weeks with projects progressing. The Town of Lexington, MA Police Department had their ribbon cutting for the new Police Headquarters. #TeamTecton previously worked with the Town of Lexington to design and construct a new Fire Headquarters. We hope the Town and their community are enjoying their new public safety facilities. Earlier this month, The City of Greenfield, Massachusetts had the grand opening for their new Fire Headquarters. Tecton is proud to have worked as a Peer Reviewer and Interior Designer with H2M architects + engineers on this project. Congratulations to the City, their emergency responders and community. Lastly, the Peabody Police Department broke ground this month for the construction of their new Public Safety Headquarters. The complex will be powered entirely by electricity, with a backup generator that runs on diesel, with rooftop and parking canopy solar panels to help achieve a low Energy Use Intensity. The project is expected to complete construction in spring 2026. Congratulations to all who were involved with the West Natick Fire Station #4 project!
Exciting news! Last night, AIA Eastern NY held an award ceremony in which they presented multiple awards. The West Natick Fire Station #4 in Natick, Massachusetts won the Honor Award in recognition of its outstanding architecture and commitment to serving its community. Last night, the design team was also surprised with the competition’s “Best of the Best” award. The 25,000-square-foot station promotes public health and well-being, firefighter safety, and environmental friendliness. Tecton Architects was the Architect of Record with H2M providing the firematic design. David J. Pacheco, AIA received the chapter’s first Educator Award for his time and effort spent training undergraduate and graduate architecture students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as an adjunct professor. His classes focus on how to operate a successful architectural practice, career paths, project management, and other critical skills for a young professional. Congratulations to David and the West Natick design team! West Natick Team Members: Jeff McElravy Rebecca Hopkins, AIA, NCARB, EDAC David J. Pacheco, AIA Dennis A. Ross, AIA Katrina Pacheco, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, MCPPO

We’re closing out National Historic Preservation Month with a view that few get to experience! #TeamTecton has had the honor of participating in the restoration of multiple historic sites in our home city, including Hartford’s Old State House and the Connecticut State Capitol Building. Our work in these projects demonstrates the fascinating dichotomy of how modern technology, like drone photography and 3D digital twins, can be deployed to help document and detail historic architecture with unprecedented accuracy and efficiency. Preserving historic buildings and sites isn't just about maintaining structures; it's about honoring the stories, culture, and craftsmanship that define our shared history. At Tecton, we celebrate the rich architectural heritage that shapes our communities and connects us to our past, while continuously embracing innovation to safeguard these treasures for future generations. #HistoricPreservationMonth #Architecture #Design #CulturalHeritage #Sustainability #PreserveOurHistory Photo Credit: Red Skies Photography
