Generally, you have a few seconds to respond in a foreign language without the other party noticing that it is not your native tongue. This period can be approximately 3 to 5 seconds ⏳ During this time, you can think about your response or take a short pause without appearing suspicious🪬 🧲 The key is to speak fluently and confidently, even if your response is not perfect. Any mistakes or slight hesitations are natural and often won't be considered unusual. It's important not to delay too long, as longer pauses can attract attention. #language #learning

Facing the Fear of Speaking a New Language! During my experience working as an ELS Instructor, I've been asked a lot about why we feel so uncertain and unconfident while speaking language whic we were studying? So ... Why does this happen? - Unfamiliar Sounds: Every language has unique sounds and pronunciations that may not exist in our native tongue. Trying to produce these unfamiliar sounds can feel awkward, and we're often worried about getting it wrong. - Fear of Looking Awkward: The possibility of mispronouncing words can make us anxious about appearing awkward or unprepared. This fear can hold us back from actively participating in conversations. What languages do you know? Have you ever experienced using them?

Helping introverted scientists to speak up with confidence and become more visible without becoming overwhelmed.
To communicate effectively as a non-native speaker you need six essential elements: ✅ Grammar ✅ Vocabulary ✅ Pronunciation ✅ Comprehension ✅ Fluency ✅ Confidence All of these points are important. But the most important of all is CONFIDENCE Because. without the confidence to attend the meeting, interview, conference, networking event where you might need to communicate in English you're not going to be able to use the other skills. This is where many Language schools are failing their students. They are failing to build confidence in their students outside of the classroom. Why?. ❌ Because none of these language schools include individualised techniques to overcome fear and build confidence outside of the classroom. That's what makes my technique different, and why my method works for people who have already failed to gain the confidence to speak up in English at work. What I offer is unique, because you are unique. Depending on your situation I offer: ✅ Language training pure. ✅ Confidence training pure. ✅ Language training and confidence training combos. I’m Louise I've spent over 20 years teaching English and coaching predominantly within the Pharma and Biotech. Through my experience and insights into your situation I now help non-native introverted scientists find ways to stop overthinking and start speaking up with confidence, without going into overwhelm. DM me to arrange a free 20 minute discovery call to see how we might work together to achieve your goals.
