How popular is pickleball? While out for my daily walk, what did I see in the neighbourhood tennis court-ice rink complex? People playing tennis? Nope…Three groups of people playing pickleball, with one group having erected their own pickleball-specific net since City of Toronto workers hadn’t yet erected the tennis net on the tennis-pickleball court. With this level of interest and passion, could we soon see a Toronto franchise in Major League Pickleball? #pickleball #emergingsport #sportbusiness

Say hit bounce hit when they happen. - This will help you keep you focused on the process and not the result. #tennis #tips #highschool #foryoupage #strandtennis #college #tennisplayer

Many junior tennis players have difficulty to move forward and backward during a baseline rally. It mainly has to do with watching the speed of the upcoming ball. With higher speed you have to move backward and with lower speed you have to move forward. I always tell my players to compare it with the situation when you want to cross the street. When the approaching car has high speed, you better wait with crossing the street. When the same car has low speed, you have time enough to cross the street. So, in order to cross the street you have to watch the speed of the car. With tennis the same. It’s important to see the speed of the upcoming ball. That’s not easy, but when you focus on this, you position forward/backward will be better and the chance becomes bigger that you win the point. Try it out with your players! #anticipation #tennisplayers #tenniscoaches #tenniscoaching #tenniscoacheric

It was probably just a matter of time before tennis and pickleball clash..."The U.S. Tennis Association says that 10% of courts in America have been taken over or repainted since the pickleball boom began." Here in Toronto, I've seen a few public tennis courts painted with yellow pickleball lines, so it isn't a takeover or a repainting. Doubling a court for tennis and pickleball is a good use of limited resources, but more importantly it provides an opportunity for pickelball to grow and people to be more active. Now, we just need a professional event or a Major League Pickleball franchise in Canada to really accelerate the sport's growth here. #emergingsport #pickleball #sportbusiness

Tennis camps should’nt be a second thought. This is the chance for operators to sell this wonderful sport. Many times I’ve spoken to coaches who feel camps are a burden. This couldn’t be further from the truth. This is such a good driver for new players! Don’t sell yourself short! Create a camp that truely reflects your termly program. #weetbix #tenniscamps #tenniscoaching #tennisbusiness #tennisaustralia
