Vigorous debate is a bedrock of democracy, and in this era of fierce polarization we at Newsweek believe the public is best served by a civil national discourse that reflects diverse perspectives. With that mission in mind, Newsweek is partnering with the Stubblefield Institute to celebrate the people and organizations who work to foster good-faith debate and bridge political and cultural divides. Nominate an individual or institutions who support this ideal at https://lnkd.in/ddWAP5Kf.

We made it on the front page.. When a friend you have not heard from in a while, out of nowhere, picks a copy of today's newspaper clips and sends you this line from your article, you know people are watching and reading...''Every conversation we initiate, every initiative we support, every vote we cast – these are all threads in the tapestry of societal change'' I make the case that change first starts with us. We, as citizens, are not just passive observers but active participants in the narrative of change. Let's work on ourselves. Read the entire piece here: https://lnkd.in/eQyjwaJs

Rachel Maddox is a brilliant journalist. If you did not know American citizens had a role in aiding Hitler and Nazism to grow in power, listen. If you wonder why I have not and will not invest in a Ford after learning of Ford’s role in influencing Hitler, listen. If you think this is the worst time in our political history, listen. If you question whether a single individual can make a difference, listen. If you believe democracy is critical to our way of life, listen. If you believe democracy is without risk, listen. If you are looking for hope that democracy can prevail, listen. If you think your vote does not count, listen. Just listen. Please, for all of our sakes. #democracy
