For those of you who have been wondering "Where on earth is Ellia's TEDx talk??" since I first posted about the event in April, I finally have an update: the talk should be live mid-November. I'll keep y'all posted!

As a TEDx producer, I can tell you the NUMBER ONE mistake people make when applying for a TEDx talk is to confuse BIG idea with BROAD idea. This video by Joe Smith is a perfect example of how to get it right: NO! "Why we need to reduce paper waste." (Yawn + too generic) YES! "How to use a paper towel." (Huh.
