Vice President Human Resources at King Salman International Airport | Steering Workforce Excellence and Employee Experience
Insightful and worth reading advice!
Vice President of Marketing & Communications | Marketing Communications | Nation Branding | Destination Marketing
Many at this time have recently graduated and joining us in the workforce. As you step into this exciting new chapter of your career, I want to share some advice that I believe will set you on the right path. 1. Choose Your Leader Wisely Your first leader will shape your experience in ways you can't imagine. Choose someone who inspires you, who aligns with your values, and who will mentor you through the challenges ahead. A great leader will not just direct you—they will invest in your growth. 2. Adapt and Grow—Don’t Stand Against the Wave The workplace is dynamic, and the ability to adapt is one of your most powerful assets. Embrace change, seek out new skills, and remain flexible. Resisting change only creates friction. Instead, ride the wave, learn, and grow with it. 3. Ask, Ask, Ask—But Only After You’ve Tried Curiosity is your ally, but so is resourcefulness. Before you ask for help, exhaust all the resources available to you. This will sharpen your problem-solving skills. When you do ask, you'll be respected for your effort, and you'll learn much more in the process. The great Jack Ma encompassed his year's experience in this video which you might find interesting: https://lnkd.in/duEQYGE3 Now, if you haven't decided yet on where to start. This quote resonates deeply with me as it encapsulates the essence of leadership—inspiring others to envision greater possibilities and empowering them to unleash their full potential. As leaders, we have the privilege and responsibility to nurture talent, foster growth, and create environments where everyone can thrive. Let's embrace this philosophy by: ➡ Setting ambitious yet achievable goals ➡ Providing mentorship and guidance ➡ Encouraging innovation and creativity ➡ Celebrating successes and learning from challenges Together, let's cultivate a culture of empowerment and excellence where every individual feels valued and motivated to reach new heights. How do you inspire and energize your team? Share your thoughts below!
A leader's role is to raise people's aspirations for what they can become and to release their energies so they will try to get there. ~David Gergen

I had someone on my team today share an incredible and impactful video to me during a 1:1. In this fast-paced, often chaotic journey of life, setbacks and challenges are inevitable. Yet, it's in these very moments of adversity that we find our true strength and resilience. Jocko Willink, a retired Navy SEAL officer, encapsulates this powerful mindset in his motivational video "GOOD." Please take the time to watch this video and let it inspire you to rise above, to find the opportunity in adversity, and to transform challenges into triumphs. Because in every difficulty lies the seed of an equal or greater benefit. Embrace the power of "GOOD," and watch your world transform.

Steve Harter and Kara Lawson shed light on a crucial insight. Juggling parenthood, coaching, educating in outsourced IT, and maintaining a thriving marriage, I resonate with their wisdom. Life mirrors the frog in the pot analogy, but we evolve, becoming resilient to the heat that once would have boiled us. One battle I face: When do I impart this truth to the children I raise or coach? The answer: You'll know when the time is right. #LifeLessons #ParentingBalance #CoachWisdom #ResilienceJourney #CareerFamilyBalance #LeadershipInsights #PersonalGrowth #WorkLifeIntegration #ProfessionalDevelopment

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐛𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐭 In 1910, a year after leaving his presidential office, Theodore Roosevelt gave what would become one of his greatest public orations. The most famous section of his speech still resonates and inspires, even today. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 "𝐌𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚" 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬: "The poorest way to face life is to face it with a sneer. There are many men who feel a kind of twister pride in cynicism; there are many who confine themselves to criticism of the way others do what they themselves dare not even attempt. There is no more unhealthy being, no man less worthy of respect, than he who either really holds, or feigns to hold, an attitude of sneering disbelief toward all that is great and lofty, whether in achievement or in that noble effort which, even if it fails, comes to second achievement. A cynical habit of thought and speech, a readiness to criticize work which the critic himself never tries to perform, an intellectual aloofness which will not accept contact with life’s realities — all these are marks, not as the possessor would fain to think, of superiority but of weakness. They mark the men unfit to bear their part painfully in the stern strife of living, who seek, in the affection of contempt for the achievements of others, to hide from others and from themselves in their own weakness. The role is easy; there is none easier, save only the role of the man who sneers alike at both criticism and performance."
