You text or WhatsApp family and friends. (Why not hotels as well?) That was the same question I asked myself when starting Glowing.io At that time, there were a few companies offering text messaging capabilities, and none were doing it internationally. Many people thought using messaging for customer service in luxury hospitality would never work. It wasn't personal or wasn't "luxury". 3 reasons why they were clearly wrong: 1. Convenience Guests are messaging on mobile daily with only those they have close personal relationships with. Embracing it at your company allows them to easily request services, make inquiries, and receive updates, which provides a seamless and premium experience. 2. Immediate, Personalized Service Messaging + generative AI allow for tailored interactions, enhancing the guest experience with real-time and customized responses. 3. Discreet Communication Messaging provides a private way for guests to communicate their needs. They may not want to call and state all their private information. Offering the option to do it securely by just sending a message takes their experience to another level. For those reasons, we started offering our services to global companies in the hospitality space.

President and CEO, Phoenix American Hospitality | Business Transformation Advocate | Future of Real Estate in Hospitality | Leadership with Impact
By 2025, 53.6% of travelers will prefer contactless check-in. That isn’t the only staggering statistic, however; the global smart hospitality market is set to explode from $0.15 billion to $117.29 billion by 2029. Smart operations are the future, from predictive maintenance to personalized experiences. That said, the winners ten years from now will be those who view tech as a tool to empower staff, not replace them. #HospitalityIndustry #BusinessInnovation #FutureOfHospitality #DigitalTransformation

The Unexpected Parallels Between Business Development and DJing As I mentioned earlier this week, I had the pleasure of djing an exclusive event on Lake Como last weekend together with Max The Sax & Alexander Drexler. As a big Star Wars fan, it was an absolute highlight to be given the opportunity to perform on the set of Anakin and Padme's Naboo scene. In the professional world, the roles of a BDR and a DJ might seem worlds apart. One is deeply entrenched in the corporate environment, while the other thrives in the vibrant nightlife scene. However, there are surprising similarities that highlight the unique skills and attributes shared by both professions. 1. Customer Orientation 🤝 At the heart of both roles is a keen understanding of the audience. A BDR must grasp the needs and desires of potential customers to effectively pitch products or services. Similarly, a DJ must read the crowd’s mood and preferences to keep the dance floor alive. Both professionals excel by putting their audience first and tailoring their approach accordingly. 2. Communication Skills 💬 Effective communication is crucial for success in both fields. BDRs need to articulate value propositions clearly and build strong relationships with prospects. DJs, on the other hand, communicate through their music, creating an atmosphere that resonates with the audience. Both roles require the ability to connect and engage with people, albeit in different ways. 3. Flexibility and Adaptability 🔀 The ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances is a shared trait. BDRs must respond to market shifts and customer feedback, adjusting their strategies to stay relevant. DJs face a similar challenge, needing to adapt their sets on the fly based on the crowd’s reactions. Flexibility is key to thriving in dynamic environments. 4. Creativity 💡 Creativity is a cornerstone of both professions. BDRs often need to think outside the box to identify new business opportunities and craft compelling messages or outbound methods. DJs rely on their creativity to mix tracks and create unique musical experiences. In both cases, innovation and originality are highly valued. While the day-to-day activities of BDRs and DJs may differ greatly, the underlying skills and attributes required for success are remarkably similar. Both roles demand a deep understanding of their audience, strong communication abilities, adaptability, creativity, and technical know-how. Would you have thought so? #BDR #Sales #DJ
