In partnership with the City of West Sacramento, Wood Rodgers, Inc., and Ghirardelli Associates, Teichert Construction's Riverfront Street Extension & 5th Street Improvements project received the Project of Year award from the American Public Works Association (APWA). This award recognizes public works projects that demonstrate excellent management, administration, design, sustainability, construction and community relations, as well as the strong alliance among the managing agency, designer, contractor and construction management team. The project extended the roadway by 0.15 miles, adding sidewalks, lighting, and landscaping. 5th Street was widened, featuring a new two-way bike path, sidewalks, and underground utilities, along with updated traffic signals and pedestrian crossings. This project played a key role in transforming West Sacramento's Bridge District from its industrial roots into a vibrant, urban waterfront community. A huge shoutout to the entire project team for their commitment to partnership throughout this complex project! Our team is using advanced total stations and GPS equipment to pour "stringless" concrete curb and gutter without the need for traditional string lines. This cutting-edge technology allows for faster and more efficient pours, reducing costly retakes and setup time, saving our project owners both time and money. Plus, by eliminating the need for hundreds of steel stakes, we're enhancing safety and minimizing the risk of pinches, strains, and other injuries. We’re excited to announce a major milestone on Teichert Construction's SM-82 El Camino Real Rehabilitation CMGC Project with Caltrans D4! This vital project will enhance the functionality, access, and safety of the El Camino Real corridor, while preserving its unique character. The project spans 3.5 miles between East Santa Inez Avenue and Millbrae Avenue, through the communities of San Mateo, Hillsborough, Burlingame, and Millbrae, addressing challenging pavement, vegetation, sidewalk, utility, drainage, and safety issues. Our crews have recently started potholing, a crucial step in the preconstruction phase. This process will assist in design and help mitigate potential risks throughout the corridor.
