💡 Tekla Tip 💡 The Steel Beam Torsion Design (EN1993) calculation in Tekla Tedds can check the design of single span, simply supported, rolled I and H sections, asymmetric sections, channel sections, rectangular, and circular hollow sections subject to major and minor axis moments and shears, together with a torsional UDL and up to four torsional point loads. An Optimise command allows you to run the design of multiple sections, limit the number of sections considered, and then choose the design section to adopt. Structural steel pins Structural pins are an integral part of the connection design. They are widely used in numerous types of steel structures. A connection with a pin is assumed to be a perfect hinge. The connection consists of individual connecting plates and pin. The pin axis is perpendicular to the applied load.
