🌟 Honoured to Speak at the event: “The Strategic Role of Standards for Europe’s Future”! 🌟 In this event organised by the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), I had the privilege of participating in Panel 1: “The Future of EU Standards: Navigating the Evolution of the ESS”. A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for putting together such a significant event, to the panel moderator Stéphane du Boispéan and to my fellow panellists Alberto Simeoni, Andrea Raffaelli, Jochen Friedrich for their insightful contributions. My key takeaways from the overall event: 🎯 Regulation 1025/2012: happy to see that many stakeholders agreed with the Orgalim view that the issues affecting the European Standardisation System (ESS) can be addressed without a full revision of the Regulation. But the big question remains: what concrete measures can improve the situation? 🎯 Stakeholder Involvement: Effective stakeholder engagement remains a cornerstone for the success of the ESS. Transparency and the consensus-based approach are the key for an efficient, market-relevant and effective system. 🎯 Harmonised standards: challenges in ensuring timely assessment and citation of harmonized standards are a reality. A proportionate and pragmatic approach to the request, development and citation of harmonised standards is essential. 🎯 Attracting and retaining talent: this is a clear need for the standardisation sector and it may mean different actions, depending on the type of organisation involved (ESOs, companies, university, annex III organisations, ...). Improvement of the co-creation process, especially through digital tools, has a big role to play. 🎯 Global Alignment: Aligning with international standardisation is vital to avoid trade barriers and maintain Europe’s role as a global standard-setter, especially in the context of emerging digital technologies. Looking forward to continuing these important discussions and contributing to the future of European standards! #Standards #EU #Innovation #Regulation1025 #ESS #DigitalTransformation

Big milestone! Annual Union Workprogramme for Standardisation 2024 published. You will find there the EU main policy priorities for standardisation, including for digital. Along with the Rolling Plan for ICT standardisation (https://lnkd.in/euGC2A93), which complements it, they provide the overview of ICT/digital standardisation needs in support of EU policies and Regulations.
🚀 2024 Annual Union Work Programme on European Standardisation was published today, delivering on the objectives of our Standardisation Strategy on its second anniversary. Hats 🎩🎩🎩 off to the High-Level Forum stakeholders who contributed to these impactful proposals! Your collaboration is instrumental in advancing our standardisation efforts. With the Strategy we aimed to bring discussion on standard setting from technical meetings to the core of political decision-making. This is now a reality, with standards’ setting seen as topic of strategic importance, and a key building block of our latest initiatives. Standards are “Chefsache” ! Today’s work programme is at the heart of everything we do in the Commission with regard to standards – and it’s a lot. 72 actions dedicated to fostering a green, digital, and resilient single market, including: initiatives in quantum, critical raw materials, data economy, digital identity framework, heat pumps, and hydrogen/electric vehicle charging infrastructure. But it's not just about policy; these standards will directly impact our daily lives. For instance, for concerned parents, we aim to introduce a standard for secure, certified, and interoperable age verification to enhance child safety online. For the first time this work programme received input from the High-Level Forum on European Standardisation. The Forum brings together representatives of Member States, industry and civil society organitsations who proposed new action points and contributed to political prioritisation. We all need to do our part to make sure relevant standards are set and rolled out fast, facilitating digital and green transition, building EU resilience and competitiveness. Welcome to this survey - The Regulation 305/2011 on construction products (CPR) established harmonised rules for the marketing of construction products in the EU, based on a common technical framework provided by harmonised specifications (generally European harmonised standards). These specifications defined the characteristics to be included in the declaration of performance of construction products. The new CPR includes a digital product passport system for construction products, which can be centralised or decentralised, and use DPP service providers for its implementation. The DPP system for construction products is envisioned to be adopted within the framework of the new European Construction Products Regulation through the adoption of a future delegated act. The legal text set out additional rules about the system and its features. This survey is intended for organizations who will generate and issue DPP (manufacturers) and organizations using the DPP (designers, construction companies, public bodies, etc.).
Good morning. Ahead of today's European Commission Construction Products Regulation conference, please respond to the related Digital Product Passport (DPP) survey carried out by Cobuilder TECNALIA Research & Innovation and UNE - Asociación Española de Normalización on behalf of DG GROW. https://lnkd.in/e5-U5fTM #DPP #digitalconstruction #CEmark #digitalproductpassport
