Promising to see how the network sharing agreement between Optus and Vodafone in Australia will potentially double the mobile network coverage for #Vodafone, particularly outside metropolitan areas! 🎯 Sharing is caring! It all commences next year, and the agreement is for an initial term of 11 years with Vodafone (TPG Telecom) having an option to extend by 5 more years. Details of the agreement include: ✅ #TPG authorizing #Optus to use certain TPG spectrum in specific regional areas in the 700 MHz, 1800MHz, 3600 MHz and 3700 MHz bands. ✅ Optus providing TPG with network services by way of active mobile network infrastructure sharing in specific regional areas, where around 17% of the Australia population reside. ✅ TPG transferring to Optus or decommissioning a number of its existing mobile sites in the shared Coverage Area. This will translate into a better #mobile service for Vodafone users in Australia. More information here: https://lnkd.in/gN8P42Mj #innovation

The 3G Network Outage in Australia is Coming Sooner 🚨 While 3G was once the backbone of mobile coverage across Australia, its usage has significantly declined in favor of the faster and more efficient 4G network. Telstra has declared that it will postpone turning off its 3G network until August 31, 2024. Optus has decided to discontinue its 3G network as of September 1, 2024. The 3G network of TPG Telecom/Vodafone has already been turned off. To ensure you stay connected and maintain seamless communication, it might be time to upgrade your devices. 🔄 If you're in search of advanced #4G MDVRs, dashcams, and GNSS trackers, look no further than Meitrack's cutting-edge products. 🚀🔍 📶Make the transition smoothly with technology designed for the future. #3GShutdown #TechUpgrade #GNSS

Congrats to Virgin Media (VMO2) on unveiling the UK's first residential 2Gbps broadband package – Gig2 Full Fibre. 🌐💻 I take pride in being a small part of these groundbreaking advancements that make Virgin Media a pioneer among major UK internet providers. From GPON to XGpon, and now symmetrical XGS PON, we're witnessing remarkable advancements in broadband tech. While celebrating these changes, it's disheartening to still see FTTP/VDSL sold as full Fibre. Hoping for a swift transition from GPON to XGS PON, and what makes it promising is that this transition is facilitated by a simple hardware upgrade. Moreover, due to the backward compatibility of XGS PON, existing customers won't even know their network is ready for XGS PON, ensuring very minimal downtime. 🌐💡 #VirginMedia #BroadbandInnovation #XGSPON #FibreOptics #fttx #fibre #telecommunications #FPL #fibrepartnerlimited #comex2000

I am always talking about the importance of #3G_Shutdown for many reasons, The retirement of 3G is a necessary step for telcos to free up the #spectrum for their 4G and 5G networks, with carriers across the globe doing similar. The situation in #Australia 📗 Telstra and Optus planned to shut down their 3G networks at the end of August. However, The move will now be delayed until the end of October due to concerns about #public_safety. 📗 Public safety is a top priority for any country, So Telstra in their delayed press release, mentioned After 28 October 2024: " If your device doesn’t support VoLTE #emergency calling, you will not be able to make an #emergency call to 000 on the Telstra Mobile Network. You won’t be able to make voice calls or connect on our network if your device doesn’t have Voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology, even with 4G data " 💡 Customers should understand through the media campaigns the importance of upgrading their handset to #4G to reach the #emergency services. #3G #Sunset #PublicSafety #Emergencycall #4GUpgrade #5GReady

Later this year, Telstra and Optus plan to switch off their 3G networks to boost the capacity, speed and reliability of their 4G and 5G networks. Telstra has delayed its switch off to 31 August 2024 and Optus will switch off its network from 1 September 2024. TPG telecom/Vodafone has already switched off its 3G network All 3G and some 4G devices may be unable to make any voice calls once a 3G network is switched off. There is also a subset of 4G devices that may continue to operate for voice calls and data but will not be able to make Triple Zero calls. Older 4G devices and devices that are purchased overseas are particularly at risk. Act now – don’t call Triple Zero to check. Ask your mobile service provider today if your device will be affected.
