🌌 During the last day of #IAC2024, our Senior Vice President, Research, Digital & Innovation, Marco Brancati, participated in the panel “New Space Economy and Sustainability,” discussing crucial topics for the future of our planet with Simona Zoffoli, Engineering and Technologies at Agenzia Spaziale Italiana; Camilla Colombo, Responsible for AIDAA - The Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics's Working Group on Sustainability; Benedetta Margrethe Cattani, CEO and Co-founder of Ecosmic - WE ARE HIRING and Franco Malerba, Italian Astronaut.   The speakers shared valuable insights with a room full of high school students from various national schools, highlighting the essential role of satellites in promoting sustainability and the importance of protecting our near space from orbital debris.   🚀 To ensure that space continues to be an ally in the planet's sustainability, it is crucial to engage young people, the true innovative force of our country. 🚀 The 6th Edition of the Telespazio Technology Contest Launched at IAC 2024 🚀 The #TTeC, an open innovation contest promoted by Leonardo and #Telespazio, returns for its 6th edition, aiming to turn bright ideas into successful start-ups and inspire the next generation of STEM talents. 👩🎓 Who can participate? We were honored to host the Norwegian delegation, led by Ambassador Johan Vibe at Leonardo’s booth during #IAC2024. This prestigious event, which brings together global leaders in space exploration, research, and technology, provided a unique platform for discussing future collaborations in the aerospace sector. A special thanks to the Norwegian companies in attendance: Space Norway ,Andøya Space, KSAT – Kongsberg Satellite Services, Nammo AS, EIDEL AS, Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, WideNorth, NTNU in Gjøvik (Norwegian University of Science and Technology) and Nåva Space We would also like to acknowledge the presence of Innovation Norway which plays a key role in fostering innovation and business development.

📡Lario Space Center hosted the International Astronauts Chapter, an initiative promoted by Agenzia Spaziale Italiana, International Astronautical Federation and AIDAA - The Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics during #IAC2024 👩🚀The visit, guided by Gianni Riccobono, Vice President Operations at Telespazio, was attended by several astronauts, including: -Akihiko Hoshide, the first Japanese astronaut to have flown on the Shuttle, Soyuz, and SpaceX; -Hazzaa Ali AlMansoori, the first UAE astronaut; -Paolo Nespoli, well known for his three missions to the ISS, spending a total of 313 days in orbit. Also in attendance were future astronauts selected as reserves by the European Space Agency - ESA: Anthea Comellini, Andrea Patassa, and Carmen Possning. Telespazio's Lario Space Center, active since 1977, is located north of Lake Como, near the municipality of Gera Lario. It covers a total area of 80,000 square meters, of which 5,000 are indoors. More than 60 antennas operational in the Centre manage satellite transmission and reception services.

We were honored to welcome the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto to the Leonardo booth at the International Astronautical Congress. His visit is a significant acknowledgment of our commitment to the aerospace and defense sectors. 📡During the event “Distant but Close, Media and Culture between Italy and China” organized by China Media Group at the Triennale in Milan, the 20th anniversary of the media partnership between Italy and China was celebrated. A key moment was when Alessandro Caranci Senior Vice President of the Line of Business Satellite Communications at Telespazio, took the stage for the formal recognition of the agreement signed between Telespazio and CCTV - China Central Television, enabling the broadcast of three Chinese HD channels via satellite.

🚀✨ Telespazio signs an important contract with ESA for the Moonlight program!   We are proud to announce, during #IAC2024, the signing of a contract with the European Space Agency - ESA to lead a European consortium in the realization of a constellation of satellites dedicated to providing navigation and communication services for future lunar missions. This pioneering project will see the creation of an infrastructure in cislunar orbit that will ensure reliable connectivity and precise positioning, both essential for the safe exploration of the Moon and the development of a new lunar economy 🌕   The signing ceremony was attended by Laurent Jaffart ESA Director of Connectivity and Secure Communications; Javier Benedicto, ESA Director of Navigation; Daniel Neuenschwander , ESA Director of Human and Robotic Exploration; Gabriele Pieralli , Chief Executive Officer of Telespazio; Alexander Gerst, ESA astronaut   💬 "The Moonlight program represents much more than a technological infrastructure for lunar missions," said Gabriele Pieralli, CEO of Telespazio. "Telespazio is proud to have been selected by the European Space Agency as the leading company for Moonlight.
