🚨 Beware of Fake Job Offers! 🚨 Recently, I received a message claiming to be from Axis Bank about a job opportunity. The person reached out through WhatsApp from the number 9068301576, saying I had been shortlisted for a position. They sent me two forms to fill out and requested an “application fee” of Rs. 2550, with a promise to refund it within 24 hours if I wasn’t selected. The job description was titled “AXIS BANK JOB DESCRIPTION: Recruitment Notification 2024,” with positions like Business Development Executive and Backend Operation Executive. However, upon closer examination, several red flags made it clear this was a scam: • Application Fee: No legitimate bank charges a fee for job applications or interviews. • Unprofessional Language: The description had numerous grammar errors and vague job titles, which seemed highly unusual for a reputable bank. • Contact via Personal Number: Official recruitment processes use company emails, not personal WhatsApp numbers. If you’re seeking job opportunities, please be cautious and verify any unusual requests with the official company directly. A few weeks ago, I was speaking with a leader in TA, within the banking sector (in Canada) and he threw a staggering number at me - 1.4M. In 2024, 1.4M individuals applied to 1200 (approximate) posted positions at his bank. That is 1100+ applicants per role. This is an extreme case but, think about this every time you apply to a posted job. Even if half of those applicants are bots or from out of country or lack the necessary experience for the jobs they are applying to, you are still competing against a high number of applicants. I have talked about this for years, if you are in market, searching for your next career step, make this phrase your motto for 2025: Network...Network...Network. This will be the key differentiator between you and the 1000+ people who auto apply to a job.

They connect with you via WhatsApp and their websites, trying to deceive you with fake offer letters and work permits. Many of these fraudulent groups claim to offer jobs in Canada. Stay cautious and verify all job offers before giving a single penny. First, they tell you that you don't need to give any money as the company will cover the expenses. They also ensure that you don't tell anyone, warning you that you could lose your job if someone contacts them. Initially, they provide you with a fake offer letter from Canada, and then gradually ask for money step by step. In the end, after taking all your money, they block you. 🚨Note: Their main tactic is to make you feel that they are sincere with you due to your behavior and circumstances, presenting themselves as your soul brothers. Be careful.

It's unbelievable but sadly true. 😓 After reading an article in theHRDirector, I realised there's another method for conducting job analysis when applying for job offers. Be vigilant, scrutinise red flags closely, and avoid scams. 🤓 Vague Job Descriptions: Beware of job listings that promise extravagant benefits or high pay for a bit of experience. 🤓 Bogus Web Addresses: Look for subtle variations in the domain name and check the domain age for authenticity. 🤓 Unprofessional Communication: Avoid unconventional job application methods or communication via messaging apps. 🤓 Unsolicited Job Offers: Be wary of unexpected job offers, primarily via social media platforms. Genuine offers typically follow standard application processes and interviews. 🤓 Listings Involving Monetary Transactions: Watch out for requests for payment for training materials or application fees.
