New York City-based Bilingual Marketing & Retail Operations Leader 🗽 | Social Media Marketing 📱 | Project Management 💻 | Top Influencer Marketing Voice 🏅 | Content Creator 🤳🏽
Met up with my good friend and former boss Christa Dabkowski today while she was in New York City! Christa hired me as her first marketing manager at Westfield, and I am immensely grateful for all the lessons and experiences I've gained under her mentorship. From day one, she instilled in me a deep understanding of consumer behavior, retail marketing strategies, and the importance of embracing diversity in all our campaigns. Here are just a few of the invaluable skills and leadership qualities I've learned from Christa: 💡 Strategic Planning: Crafting marketing strategies that resonate with diverse audiences. 💡 Data-Driven Decisions: Utilizing consumer insights to drive impactful marketing campaigns. 💡 Creative Storytelling: Developing compelling narratives that connect brands with their audiences. 💡 Team Leadership: Leading cross-functional teams with empathy and a clear vision. 💡 Adaptability: Navigating the ever-evolving landscape of retail marketing with agility. Thank you, Christa, for shaping me into the marketing professional I am today. Your guidance and support have been instrumental in my career journey. To my network: I am currently open to new opportunities! Whether remote, hybrid, or in-person in New York City, I am eager to bring my expertise in marketing, consumer behavior, and inclusive strategies to a new role. #Marketing #Leadership #Mentorship #CareerGrowth #OpenToWork #NewYorkCity #RemoteWork #HybridWork

New Year, New Me, New Trends! Top of my new year's resolution obviously is finding a new role. In doing so, keeping up with the latest trends is imperative to stay on top of my game. I know I can always look toward my trusty guide, BizBash, for staying in the loop. I find point #3 to be a particularly interesting one! At least with my experience in 2023, it seems as though tech companies have been cutting down on business travel. As an advocate for bleisure and family, I'm surprised yet curious to know which companies are in support of more travel! Bonus: here is my personal outlook and values for the event planning year ❌Out: 😟Celebrating diversity only through one-time events and heritage months ❓Planning events with unclear goals and poor lead time 🗑️Wasteful swag that goes untouched 📉Delayed follow ups and low post-event survey responses ♂️Marketing events based on attendee demographics 🙌In: 👨🏽👦🏽👦🏽Implementing DEI holistically throughout the event process and beyond (combat the rollbacks made in tech!) 🕘Planning strategic events with sensible timelines 🎁Purposeful swag that relates back to theme 💯Immediate follow ups with positive feedback results 📊Marketing events based on attendee values (New perspective heard from the GatherGeeks podcast) #opentowork #layoffs #tech #DEI #events #eventmanager #corporateevents

If you haven't heard yet, BODi (formerly known as The Beachbody Company) laid off 33% of its workforce on Monday as it shifts from a multi-level marketing model to an affiliate-based approach. https://lnkd.in/gKMgBwSD Having spent nearly a decade at Beachbody, I've witnessed the company navigate many transformations in response to changing consumer demands, but this is by far the most significant shift. I still believe that Beachbody's programs and products are among the best in the health and fitness industry and I hope the company can come up for air soon. While the company may make some questionable business decisions, one thing is clear: they know how to attract exceptional talent. I've met some of my favorite people at Beachbody, and now some top-tier talent is available on the job market. If you're a hiring manager, DO NOT WAIT! These individuals are outstanding, and I encourage you to act quickly to bring them on board. Whether you're looking for expertise in live production, events, creative roles, brand management, or operations—don’t miss this opportunity! BODi friends, I want to help. Leave a comment here with a quick line about what you do and let's get you connected with your next role! #hiring #jobseeker #recruiters #jobsearch

The last 4 years of my career in a nutshell… 2020 - COVID - Furloughed for 3 months Q3 2020 -> Q1 2021 - unfurloughed - returned as Technical Director / Head of Production at NeueHouse 2021-> 2022 - AGM NeueHouse (acting General Manager until August) 2022 -> 2023 GM of Fotografiska 2023 -> 2024 VP of Operations / Fractional COO role - opening two Experiential Attractions in two landmark buildings 2024 -> Business Development Consulting and…… (Noting the 2020-2023 roles were part of a 7 year tenure with the same company.) _____ I’ve achieved a lot in a VERY short amount of time. Yes, I’ve made mistakes but I’ve also celebrated big wins. I’ve grown tremendously, and learned the ins and outs of very complex business models; well enough to open two experiential attractions in one calendar year. I helped lead two businesses out of Covid beginning with a skeleton crew, extraordinary effort and focus. Of course I’m still learning, but the many years of listening, working hard and showing up paid off. Someone took a risk on me, and I’m grateful. Success doesn’t happen over night. Work hard. Learn something new every day. Remember the people that have elevated you, as well as the ones that propped you up along the way. Return the favor. Maintain good and authentic relationships. Be genuine. Be unabashedly you. And when the opportunity comes, be ready to commit. And if you don’t get a call back, or get passed up on a promotion, that’s okay too. They don’t know what they’re missing. You’ll just have to show them! #leadershipadvice #careeradvice #rapidgrowth #stayready #careercoaching #opentowork

✨ Leap and the Net Will Appear: A Journey in Faith and Purpose ✨ My name is Imani Nia, meaning faith and purpose in Swahili. These values have guided me through 2024—a year of embracing change, trusting the unknown, and believing that every leap leads to growth. In March, I temporarily stepped away from my full-time role in DEI at Saint Joseph’s University to join the Marcus Graham Project (MGP). My team and I were tasked with creating a 360° marketing campaign connecting Moët Hennessy with Philadelphia 76ers fans. After intense collaboration, we won the best presentation. Competing against such incredible talent reinforced that with faith, the impossible becomes possible. Though I didn’t leave my full-time job until July, the months leading up to that decision were transformative. I landed paid speaking engagements, hired videographers to document the journey, and sharpened my skills. Betting on myself was the best decision I could have made. 💡 For the past three years, I also freelanced as an Event Operations Manager, managing events across five states and reaching over 30K attendees. Though I paused this work for MGP, the lessons have stayed with me. Leading a team of 11 at MGP, we launched a pop-up agency for MOSH Agency delivering campaigns for clients like McDonald's, Apple, and REVOLT. Our work led to multiple follow-up meetings and earned us standing ovations from leadership. These were defining moments, but also a reminder that the journey doesn’t end there—each step is part of a bigger path. ✨ Now, as I move forward, I’m navigating the job search with faith and determination. I could choose fear, but I believe every leap has a purpose, and the next opportunity is waiting for me to take that step. Are you ready to take the leap with me? Whether you're seeking someone with a track record in event management, strategic campaigns, or client partnerships, or simply want to explore the power of faith in career decisions—let’s connect. Explore my journey and portfolio at imanib.co. I’m excited for the next chapter—because every leap brings us closer to the net that’s waiting to catch us. ✨ In closing, I'm a reflection of the amazing team members that make it happen - check out the dynamic work MOSH is doing: Eric N. Cruz, MBA | Russell L. E. | Gerald Render Jr | Kia Smith ✍🏾 👩🏾💻💡💭 | Arabia Parkey | Isabella Ngov | Monique Proverbs | Libbe Phan | Lyric Albert | Aamira Muse | Tyler Borders

I've been job hunting for 24 months and counting. Some people (including myself) haven't recovered financially or career-wise SINCE the pandemic. I have less than a month to find a new role in New York before I must consider moving back home to Atlanta. Please tag/boost/share within your network! Moved to NYC 8 months ago, networked through a cold, rainy winter, and have gained more progress/career clarity than ever as I pivot out of music marketing & tour production. I'm so thankful for the provision God has given me thus far. For 24 months I've made it to final rounds of countless interviews, ghosted plenty, and it's very disheartening knowing how talented I am- but it not being enough. When I left the music industry, I didn't think I'd be underemployed, doing side & free projects for this long. People are getting laid off every quarter, and it's hurtful seeing recruiters and hiring managers telling people to reach out- but not responding to messages. Last week I was even ghosted by a restaurant I started serving at. I put out so much into this world. Always sharing job opportunities, recommending people, making introductions- and I would really like that good returned back to me. I'm seeking creative production, talent relations, brand/influencer marketing, event/content programming, partnerships/biz dev and multicultural strategy roles. I have 12+ years of professional entertainment experience. I also have live camera operating and graphic design experience. I am a proud multi-faceted woman with range, business acumen, resources, and creativity.

There is NOTHING more important to me than my friends and family. And there are not many better ways to enjoy time together with them than a show at Red Rocks. My wife Betsey (next to me) is sitting next to our good friends Mel and Dan. Mel and Dan moved from our town of Bailey, CO to outside Nashville about 15 years ago. Next to Dan is PK and then Rudy. PK and Rudy still live here but this brought us all back together. We lost touch with Mel and Dan. Almost immediately. And didn't reconnect but barely during those 15 years. But as soon as we were back together, the laughs, stories, reminiscing, and enjoying each others company, as if we had never separated, took over. We all wanted to maximize our time together during their short stay. And we did. We also did a separate day of rafting and another evening at Rudy and Sandie's amazing mountain home. I needed this. I needed a reset. I might need another soon too. I continue to search and seek my next opportunity in my field. These are challenging, difficult times. But having friends like these and the ability to forget for a bit, or set aside my concerns, is very important to me. I'm very grateful. I'm seeking remote SaaS AE or AM roles. I have experience across a variety of industries, including eCommerce, Market Research, AEC, and Digital Signage, and I'm hungry and motivated. #SaaSSales #friends #reconnect #lifeistooshort

Global Promotional Brand & Social Media Influencer Marketer | IAB Certified | CPG Leader | Music Nerd | Social Snob |
And another layoff... 🤔 It's been exactly 3 weeks since I lost my job in global marketing at The Estée Lauder Companies. While I'm still processing a whirlwind of emotions, I want to reflect on my time and what lies ahead. I'm immensely grateful for the knowledge, growth, and opportunities I've had over the past 2.5 years. Working in global marketing for beauty is demanding, but it's been an invaluable learning experience. I'll miss the daily team calls, coffee catch-ups, and the camaraderie dearly. However, I'm excited to embrace what's next. I feel relieved knowing I no longer have to feel unappreciated and my needs not being supported. There is no more questioning my self-worth or doubting my expertise—I know MY VALUE! As a Global Marketing Associate, I spearheaded promotional marketing plans, COGs, managed artwork, product development, packaging, and conducted competitive analysis. Dabbling into freelance, social media and influencer marketing, I achieved significant success including creating a viral TikTok and Instagram video that garnered 56k likes and boosted follower engagement by 2.3%. As I actively seek a new role, I'm reaching out to my network for assistance. If you have any connections or opportunities in marketing, sales, promotions, or social media, I'd love to connect and explore further. With over 8+ years in the beauty/CPG industries, I am eager to contribute and learn, taking on new challenges in the Long Island area or remotely. Thank you to my network 💖😊 #opentowork #layoff #lookingforwork #marketing #socialmedia #CPG #beauty #reach #fashion #hospitality
