Energy is life. Biologically, socially, and economically. Apollo Energy Analytics (Helios IoT Systems) is a promising startup in Renewable Energy Analytics space with job openings of interest. Please tag anyone suitable.
Remember when mongodb came out and everyone got so hyped and started using it just to end up switching back to sql? Remember when microservices got hyped but now the industry recommends use a monolith first? Remember when graphql came out and everyone started hyping it up until they ran into tons of short comings? Give new tech 5 years and reevaluate. Adopt that mindset and become a senior engineer. (via the 𝕏 platform)

🚀 Exciting Times at TarotDeck! 🚀 I know it’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve been hard at work making great strides in the TarotDeck project, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to share what we’ve been up to! 🔹 Database Migration: After careful consideration, we decided that AWS wasn’t the best fit for our database hosting needs and budget. As a result, we’re migrating to MongoDB Atlas, optimizing our architecture for scalability and security. We’ve also split dynamic and static data across different databases for better management and efficiency. 🔹 Security & Access: Security remains a top priority. We’ve successfully integrated AWS IAM roles to manage access to our MongoDB Atlas databases, as well as other services that we continue to host on AWS. This integration allows us to leverage the strengths of both platforms, ensuring robust security protocols across the board while maintaining seamless operations. 🔹 Frontend Development: On the frontend, we’re enhancing the user experience with intuitive interfaces and responsive designs. Our focus has been on creating a seamless interaction between users and our rich data sets, ensuring that every reading feels personal and insightful. 🔹 Backend & Frontend Integration: We’ve also been hard at work ensuring smooth integration between our frontend and backend systems. By aligning our APIs with the frontend needs, we’re providing fast, reliable, and secure access to our data, making the user experience as seamless as possible. 🔹 Project Management: From repository conventions to issue tracking, we’re defining guidelines that will streamline our processes and improve collaboration across our development team. 🔹 Seeding the Database: We’re now seeding data on MongoDB Atlas with updated naming conventions to align with our project’s evolving structure. We’re incredibly proud of the progress our team is making and look forward to the next phases of development. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to build and innovate! And as always, keep on being amazingly you! Product-Led Grind is the real journey to Product-Led Growth... By naming it Product-Led Grind, we’re setting the expectation upfront that this won’t be easy. Take Rows.com, for example—it took them 4 years to build out their self-serve motion. At MongoDB, ~5 years. For Snyk, it was around ~3 years. Many other great companies fall into this category — HotJar, ClickUp, and Amplitude. We already know why product-led growth is important, but the grind is rarely discussed. That's what this article is for -- How do you build an optimal self-serve motion amidst the grind? Read more here https://lnkd.in/gr73d3G5

🚀 tunyabytes Episode 1.2 | Exploring Two Parallel Universes: Open Source vs. Closed Source 🤯 It’s been a wild ride for open-source companies lately. HashiCorp recently moved from open-source to the Business Source License (i.e. retaining greater control over the commercial use of its software), while Elastic and MongoDB have shifted to more restrictive licenses. Umur Cubukcu and Joseph Jacks (JJ) have been steadfast builders and contributors to the open-source community, shaping its evolution in unique ways. 🔹 At Citus Data, Umur's previous company, they transitioned from closed-source to open-source, building trust while driving enterprise sales. Now at Ubicloud, an open-source alternative to AWS, Umur is doubling down on open-source! 🔹 With years of experience investing in and partnering with open-source companies at OSS Capital, JJ brings a wealth of knowledge on how to commercialize community-driven code. In this less-than-5-minute tunyabytes episode, we explore: 🚀 Ubicloud’s strengths beyond being an open-source alternative to AWS. 🔄 An investor’s perspective on the parallel universes of closed source and open source.

🚀 Scaling GitHub with Vitess: How GitHub Handles Millions of Concurrent Commits! 🚀 GitHub’s exponential growth presented a challenge—MySQL alone could no longer manage millions of code commits happening simultaneously. However, instead of migrating away from MySQL, GitHub implemented Vitess, a powerful sharding solution that works as an extra layer on top of MySQL to handle scaling efficiently. This same solution powers major platforms like YouTube, Slack, and Pinterest. 📑 Learn how GitHub solved its scaling challenges and maintained high performance with Vitess! The full document dives into: Why GitHub didn’t abandon MySQL. How Vitess ensures horizontal scaling, replication, and automatic failover. Product management lessons for leveraging existing infrastructure for future growth. #ProductManagement #GitHub #Vitess #CloudComputing #Microservices #MySQL #ScalingSolutions #TechInnovation #DatabaseManagement #SoftwareArchitecture #EngineeringLeadership #DevOps #OpenSource #CloudInfrastructure #DataSharding #BigData #HighAvailability #PerformanceEngineering #SoftwareDevelopment #TechStrategy #AWS #Scalability #DigitalTransformation #AI #SaaS
