So it's all eyes on Iowa. Once every four years the Midwestern state takes centre stage as the Republican caucuses take place across its towns and cities. That's the headline, but what else is going on this chilly January morning? 🎖 The race for the Republican nomination starts here. Nikki Haley is building momentum but Donald Trump is still expected to take the vote in Iowa. But will the ex-President be able to hold out again the more moderate voices in the party, with New Hampshire next in line to caucus? 📈 Post-Christmas trading results continue to be released, with M&S and Tesco last week announcing stronger figures than expected. This data influences share prices and impacts markets, so watch out for the knock-on effect of a surge in popularity of pigs in blankets. 🌿 Speaking of those meaty festive treats, after the feast comes a move to plant-based diets as many embrace #veganuary. January is a month for new starts and lifestyle changes, and the plant-based movement grows in popularity every year. What are you doing to encourage or support behaviour change? 🐁 January is a good time to have a sort out, and in Wales a mouse has taken this to heart, helping a retired postman by tidying his shed at night. This is a very short exert and a powerful illustration of emotional intelligence. While this is a lesson for all I also want to emphasise that this is a lesson for all boys and boys growing into men and men to understand what the potential affects on them when they keep and follow the stereotypical trope of them not expressing their emotions. This I believe is the first steps parents need to start proactively engaging in and teaching and building the confidence of their male children even before they get into the educational setting so that their emotions are NOT crushed there. Parents are totally unaware that many of our male children are disempowered within the very system, that parents assume to be safe developmentally through education. The lack of understanding and support has had an impact on their mental health outcomes. Men’s mental health outcomes as we see today is a result of many years of trauma and boxing and suppressing feelings from day one either at home or in the playground. As parents we also need to wake up and stop assuming that the wholistic development of the child is within the schools setting. As parents we also have to take a proactive approach in training and understand the gaps that need to be developed to meet our children’s needs that the educational system are not designed to fulfil. With costs and reach that were truly out of this world, the two-part ad, coming in at $17.5 million, made a significant impact in millions of feeds during Sunday's match. This initiative, funded by private evangelical Christian donors, proved to be a success. However, stepping back from the ad's unique focus and the politics behind the substantial expenditure, its popularity might suggest a broader trend other brands could learn from. In a time when audiences are overwhelmed by negativity from ongoing wars in Israel and Ukraine, alongside a divisive U.S. presidential election, there's a strong desire for messages of goodwill that unite rather than divide. Whether this shift towards unifying content will take hold remains uncertain. But it's clear there's a craving for a respite from the divisive messages, politics, and conflict that currently saturate our environment. Will other brands take note?
