𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 has received 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 (𝐀𝐢𝐏) from the 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 Bureau Veritas Group (𝐁𝐕) for its 30,000 cubic meter liquid ammonia bunkering vessel design. The approval was granted on 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒, during the SMM Hamburg 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲. The 180-meter-long vessel, equipped with three C-type cargo tanks, features an ammonia fuel electric propulsion system with a service speed of 13 knots. Safety and operational efficiency are enhanced by high-level bunkering stations and bow thrusters. 𝐃𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, in collaboration with 𝐁𝐕, also conducted a 𝐇𝐀𝐙𝐈𝐃 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 to address ammonia toxicity risks. Following an inaugural sectoral engagement between Minister Tau representing the #DepartmentofTradeIndustryandCompetition (DTIC) and the steel and engineering value chain on 20 November 2024, it was unanimously agreed that in order to arrest the rapid decline in the sector’s performance, interventions need to be as radical and ambitious as deemed necessary under the circumstances. Texas, US – Perma-Pipe has received another order for its thermal insulation products in the Gulf Cooperation Council region. The value of the project is estimated to exceed $43m, and is expected to start in the third quarter of 2025. It will use the company’s Trace-Therm system.

What is SOLAS Chapter 15? The latest code and amendment that is expected to enter in to force from 1st July 2024,Chapter 15 talks about INTERNATIONAL CODE OF SAFETY FOR SHIP'S CARRYING INDUSTRIAL PERSONNEL. (IP CODE). A new mandatory safety code for ships carrying industrial personnel – aimed at ensuring the safety of people transported to work on offshore facilities including windfarms – has been adopted by IMO's Maritime Safety Committee (MSC 106), which met from 2 to 11 November 2022. The aim is to provide minimum safety standards for ships that carry industrial personnel, as well as for the personnel themselves, and address specific risks of maritime operations within the offshore and energy sectors, such as personnel transfer operations. Such personnel may be engaged in the construction, maintenance, decommissioning, operation or servicing of offshore facilities, such as windfarms, as well as offshore oil and gas installations, aquaculture, ocean mining or similar activities.

The project focused on designing multiphase surface pipeline networks for sustainability and environmental integrity. Working with a complex network of wells provided by KOC, we tackled extensive calibration and optimization challenges, applying creative solutions to improve system performance. One of our key innovations involved decreasing choke sizes, a counterintuitive solution that helped prevent back pressures on other wells, optimizing overall well performance and leading to a 38% increase in Net Present Value (NPV). Additionally, we increased pipeline sizes and made strategic changes to the manifold and well connections, ensuring smoother flow and enhanced system stability. We also conducted a thorough sustainability analysis to mitigate risks like pipe erosion and slugging. To further support environmental integrity, we implemented gas and crude sweetening processes to remove H2S and CO2, contributing to both operational efficiency and environmental protection. A huge thanks to Dr. Fahad Almudairis and Eng. Dana Alkanderi, without their invaluable guidance and support, this achievement would not have been possible.

Leading the Change: Steel pipes with reduced CO2 emissions for latest Subsea7 award.   Corinth Pipeworks has been awarded a contract by Subsea7 for manufacturing and supplying steel pipes with CO2 reduction certificates for a new offshore project in the North Sea. The 39km of 16-inch High-Frequency Welded steel pipes are to be used for subsea Pipe-In-Pipe application.   Corinth Pipeworks and ArcelorMittal are joining forces to prioritise low-carbon emissions XCarb® steel solutions , aiming to cover the market need for  shift towards reduced carbon emissions products.   Ilias Bekiros, General Manager of Corinth Pipeworks, stated: “Collaborations that assist our efforts to reduce carbon emissions are critical on the route to a sustainable future for all.
