This makes Zhang the 18th person to hold this title since the list’s inception 26 years ago. Zhang surpassed Zhong Shanshan, the bottled water tycoon, whose wealth declined by 24% to $47.9 billion, placing him second. Despite facing a legal battle over its assets in the U.S., ByteDance saw a 30% increase in global revenue last year, reaching $110 billion. This growth significantly boosted Zhang’s fortune. Tencent’s founder, Pony Ma, secured the third spot, while Colin Huang of PDD Holdings dropped to fourth, even as his e-commerce platform continued to report strong revenue. The number of billionaires on the rich list fell by 142, bringing the total down to 753, a significant drop from its 2021 peak. K-Impact: How Korea is Revitalizing Communities and What We Can Learn From It 🤟 🌎 Imagine a forgotten space, one that’s underutilized, dilapidated and disconnected from its surroundings. Now, picture that same space brimming with life, creativity and community. A place where people from all walks of life come together to create something meaningful. This was the core of the sharing session I recently attended, led by Chung Hoon Jeon, President of K-Impact. Mr Hoon shared remarkable stories of how they turned underused areas in Korea into vibrant community hubs, simply by 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀. From collaborating with local artists to creating community-based games, they achieved remarkable change through a 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺-𝘂𝗽 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 that involved local residents, artists and even government collaboration. What resonated with me the most was the focus on 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 and how even the smallest actions can spark significant transformations. 🌱 The key takeaway? It’s about starting with people, fostering 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and making 𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 part of the community's fabric. These lessons are especially relevant to us in Malaysia as we look towards creating spaces that serve and empower our communities.
