Data from BDSAT-2 nanosatellite can now be viewed online at www.bdsat.cz 🛰️ BDSAT-2 is a nanosatellite, the so-called cubesat. It is a small cube measuring 10 × 10 × 10 cm which has been orbiting the Earth since the beginning of the year with the goal of testing selected pressure sensors for demanding space applications and the use of a bank of supercapacitors as an innovative solution for storing electricity from solar cells on satellites. This solution could replace conventional battery power systems in the future 🔋 The satellite has been developed by researchers from CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Vysoké učení technické v Brně, BD SENSORS s.r.o., Fakulta elektrotechniky a komunikačních technologií VUT v Brně and Spacemanic and the streamed data are being continuously processed 📊 Prof. Radimir Vrba, the Director of CEITEC - Central European Institute of Technology Vysoké učení technické v Brně, stated that after 11 months in orbit, “It is confirmed that the tested technologies for future space applications are reliable even in the harsh conditions of space.” 🌌 Read the whole article ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/dsTwsGtg #CEITECScience #bdsat #cubesat #spacetech #research #brnoregion #czechrepublic
