🔗Linking Up For Space: 🌌 Atomos Space and DCUBED Success Story “We’re excited to work with DCUBED for our Quark-LITE and Gluon space vehicles… While we picked DCUBED’s ESPA-class panels because they combine robustness, price and performance; we’ve been most impressed by DCUBED’s ability to meet our tight schedules and rapidly changing mission conditions.” – Vanessa Clark CEO of Atomos Space The Challenge: Atomos Space needed to procure deployable and rigid solar panels for their Quark-LITE and Gluon orbital transfer vehicles, as part of its Mission 1 demonstration. The Solution: By leveraging a modular approach based on heritage technology, DCUBED provided a customizable, COTS solution of rigid and deployable SmallSat solar arrays. The Impact: 33% shorter lead time and flexibility due to the modular COTS approach allowed Atomos Space to incorporate development before their scheduled launch. Make sure to follow Atomos Space for more updates on Mission 1! (Video credit by Atomos Space) Read the full Success Story here: https://lnkd.in/gjHyMUTc #newspace #DCUBED #DCUBEDspace #solararrays

#NextSpace meets #NewSolar ☀ Last week at the SATELLITE Conference & Exhibition, Reflex and #FlexellSpace signed a Letter of Intent to work together on applying their customized space solar cells to our tailored satellite platforms. By developing technology to reduce lead times and costs without sacrificing performance, their vision for driving innovation in space solar cells aligns seamlessly with our vision to manufacture satellites at lightning speed. Flexell Space, a Hanwha Group company, is elevating the standard of solar cells by developing new designs with significant benefits such as reduced mass, increased durability, greater flexibility, and self-curing capabilities. We’re constantly developing new relationships to ensure that each of our designs incorporate future-ready space tech. Flexell’s ability to mass manufacture these advanced solar cells positions them as a solution to the market bottleneck, and one that exceeds performance requirements. Reduction in launch costs was the primary catalyst that ignited the development of the LEO satellite industry and closed the business case for mega LEO constellations. Imagine what could be possible if technologies like the Kick Stage Helios from Impulse Space shifted the cost paradigm for GEO constellations, enabling multiple lower-cost GEO services along with the benefit of low-cost and reliable user terminals... For many business and broadband applications, this low-cost GEO service would outweigh the advantage of low-latency. Read more about this mission here: https://lnkd.in/d9mithdH
