It’s #ConstructionSafetyWeek! Each person in our organization, regardless of their role, is responsible for the safety of themselves, the entire team, and others working around them. This is why it is critical to create an engaging and supportive environment that promotes communication, ownership, and teamwork. An environment where anyone can express their ideas, needs and concerns without fear of judgement or repercussions. #BuildingGreatLeaders #PeopleFirst

There are 3 Key Aspects to a Healthy Culture.... 1. SAFETY: understanding whats expected and what TO expect when things don't go as planned. Are you safe to speak up when you don't agree? What are the repercussions? 2. VULNERABLITY: a place where people can admit they don't know everything and can ask questions 3. COMMON PURPOSE: we find value in where we are going together. Everyone can find their Unique part in the Story. Culture is what makes Your company distinctive to Customers and Top Talent! The Good NEWS! You can Engineer the Culture you want to see in the Place where Everyone wants to work and tells their friends.... Is Organizational Culture or Team Culture More important? Hey folks, I had a great Sunday afternoon chat with some mates today, while enjoying a couple of cold drinks on this 37-degree day here in Perth. We were discussing some of interesting work projects that the guys have on the go and then this question popped up. We tossed it around a couple of times with a few different views initially, some of the view that Org Culture was the main game because it's the org that sets the vision, structure, business plans, policies, procedures, remuneration programs, governance and the list goes on and on. A couple of others leant more towards Team Culture because that's where s... (work) actually gets done. A real-life example shared by one of the group really hit home the fact that the obvious answer is that BOTH are important. So, what was the example? It was so simple. Blake said that at his workplace (mining) that everyone is 100% on board with "safety" and in fact even his bonus is linked to avoiding safety incidents. His organization has loads of world best practices etc.... They implore reporting of safety incidents. 6 months ago, Blake twisted his ankle badly on a rock. So badly that he couldn't "hide it". To this day he still cops s... (slack) for it from his own teammates. Anyone who is actually serious about creating a high performing organisation needs to figure out how to make team level culture visible in a safe and reliable manner. We need to make the invisible "culture" visible so that we can generate healthier teams at all levels. Time for a swim...... Cheers, Ash

My goal is to inspire personal and professional growth within my community and individually, with a passion for accountability and perseverance.
More companies would benefit from auditing their company culture through anonymous employee satisfaction surveys that include questions surrounding the items below. Turn-over rate aside, I can almost guarantee if your culture ranks low you may be struggling to hit KPIs consistently, but as you improve that internal score you’ll see more consistent success. It’s astonishing how many companies do not conduct employee satisfaction surveys! Have you seen this happen in your own organization? How often are you conducting surveys?
