Plunkett Associates – Blazing a trail! Established in 2005, Plunkett Associates has been at the forefront of the Rapid Prototyping industry. Recognising a market need for customised solutions for companies seeking Prototypes and Low-Volume production parts, Plunkett Associates has since amassed 19 years of experience in Additive Technology. Their unparalleled understanding of RP Technologies, materials, tooling, and production expertise sets them apart. From conception, Plunkett Associates focused on pitching for problems and then delivering solutions, helping build a supplier base across a wide range of sectors with typically one thing in common: everyone knew the value of time. Adept Precision Limited Dictionary definition: adept adjective 1. very proficient in something requiring skill  2. skilful; expert In 2016, a new member joined the Plunkett family - Adept Precision, not just any addition but a sister company for Plunkett Associates. It was a courageous decision made during a time of global uncertainty. Undeterred, Tim, with his unwavering entrepreneurial spirit, propelled us to 2024. Today, Adept is a thriving enterprise that offers prototype and production tools and integrated tooling and moulding capabilities. With one CNC mill, a few reconditioned moulding machines for STV (https://lnkd.in/eskd_BaW), and two reshored projects, it was a tough start; our first customer cancelled their project just as the delivery driver craned off our first moulding machine. Things were cramped for anyone who visited in the early days, but despite that, we shoehorned more CNC mills on-site until 2022, when it was time to move. Now operating out of almost 1200 sq.m Adept Precision has matured from simple Aluminium Tooling to providing a complete portfolio of Development, Bridge and Production Tooling with Moulding capacity ranging from 6 to 260 tf (shot weights of less than a gram to over 800gm). Interesting fact of the day: In Medieval Latin, an Adeptus was a person who had learned the secrets of alchemy. 🤳🏻 Hand Cam Movie Time: Speed meets quality in our customized solution for a client ⚙   When last visiting our Waldachtal production, we captured a quick video to showcase the initial step of our Luer Lock production process. In Waldachtal, we've established an advanced automated assembly line for the high-speed production of connection systems for infusions and injections, achieving output in the double-digit million range. This project encompasses the in-house production of two injection-molded parts—the housing and cap—and the procurement of an additional filter, with all components requiring precise assembly. 🚀 The Challenge: Producing components at ultra-fast speeds and high volumes, while adhering to regulatory standards and maintaining low costs. 🎬 The First Production Step: Injection molding of the housing and cap, before they are integrated into the automated assembly line. Here’s what the video highlights: ▶ Two high-cavity molds are used to produce the plastic housing and cap. ▶ The hot runner system and spindle unit enable the simultaneous production and removal of 48 components within seconds. ▶ Camera and sensor controls ensure consistent quality at each step.
