This is an interesting post for a number of reasons. The comments lead you to believe the solution is IOT based, 'smart system' and preventative maintenance and to some extent it is. But, and there is a but, the main issue as to why so many hand dryers in areas of high traffic fail is simply because the wrong type of hand dryer was installed in the first place. A simple exercise, which to anyone interested, may be of use for future hand dryer placement; The below depicts a standard 'brushed motor' hand dryer, typical cycles before the units fails and new brushes are required - 300,000 uses. Sounds a lot right, but in a high traffic area, thats only around 2 years usage (400 uses a day for 2 years). A digital motor or brushless motor will last around 1.5 million cycles, or 10 years in the same scenario. As a business we work though partnership, and through our many, many partnerships we have been lucky enough to work with some of the busiest shopping centres in the UK. All experienced this same issue - Until we implemented the correct hand dryer. I hope this helps those companies looking for a high traffic solution within the world of hand dryers.
