So today I start the process of removing myself from the pigeon hole of being an Accounts Payable Specialist. It’s sometimes hard to see that you have become that person in a pigeon hole until someone points it out to you. I know my strengths and weaknesses which is a great place to start. I also know I am an asset to any business I work for however I am very much guilty of hiding my knowledge as I don’t want to appear arrogant. Now the interesting times start when I develop myself into what I truly am - which is not an AP Specialist. What is the name for it ? Well that’s a tough one as I need to chose my words carefully so that I do not find myself going from a pigeon hole to a silo. It’s now time for me to create the person I want to be, doing what I love best - this takes time and will not happen overnight. **Be aware **Imposter syndrome is real !To overcome it you need to see yourself along with your worth before anything else understanding yourself is a challenge to master. Once you have got past this step the task looks easier to break into bite size pieces.
