TERI is hiring Research Associates No. of Position- 2 The Land Resources Division of The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi is looking for Two Research Associates (RS-GIS) to work on their ongoing project activities. The professional should have the mindset to work in various areas of Forestry and Natural Resources Management. He/ she should have working knowledge of satellite data processing including image correction and image analysis. Knowledge of ArcGIS/QGIS or other GIS software is essential. The main job is to prepare different maps of the project area (such as Carbon Stock Mapping, LULC, Land Cover Change Mapping, Forest Canopy Cover, Fractional Vegetation Cover Map, Regression Model analysis etc.). He/she should have sound knowledge in Various programming languages(s). Responsibilities 1. Various map preparation as per the requirement of the on-going projects. 2. Handling publicly available GIS datasets, crowd-sourcing platforms such as Open Street Maps, DIVA-GIS, and remote-sensing databases 3. Forest Biomass Assessment using Remote Sensing and GIS, Regression Model development and other Spatial data analysis work. 4. Sound knowledge of Ecological Modelling would be an added advantage. Qualifications MSc. in Geoinformatics, Data Science or related areas with good working knowledge and skills in proprietary/ open-source GIS software. Should have proficiency in Various programming languages(s) & Cloud computing platform(s).
