🔍 Data Discovery | Australia's Environment Data Explorer The data explorer aims to provide direct access to data summaries as maps, accounts and charts. Data can be examined by point location, region and landcover type, compared to preceding years, or downloaded for further analysis. The explorer currently offers data on weather, fire, water, soils, vegetation and soils, as well as as the Environmental Condition Score as an overall summary indicator. Harnessing the power of science, people and creativity to help solve our biggest environmental challenges
The Sharing and Enabling Environment Data (SEED) portal just got even better! Alongside the Natural Hazards Science Hub launched this just this week, you can also join the Natural Capital Accounting, Air Quality, Water and Imagery Hubs. https://lnkd.in/gxhqi-nQ SEED 🌱- making all of your data dreams come true. #opendata
Exciting News: SEED Natural Hazards Science Hub Launched! I am pleased to announce the launch of the Natural Hazards Science Hub this week on SEED – the NSW Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data portal. This new hub presents cutting-edge science and monitoring of natural hazards' impacts and recovery, building a deeper understanding of the science behind these events. This dedicated space is designed to foster collaboration with communities and traditional custodians, generate actionable insights, and inform evidence-based policy and management decisions. As the 5th themed hub launched on SEED, the Natural Hazards Science Hub joins a suite of dedicated spaces that foster self-sustaining communities of practice. These hubs offer a flexible and adaptive ways to engage with customers and share valuable environmental data, fully integrated within SEED’s powerful platform. 💡 How can supply chain actors harness existing data to establish that commodities are deforestation-free? The Forest Data Partnership (FDaP), in collaboration with the AIM4Forests Programme, has developed an innovative open-source solution called Whisp that helps supply chain stakeholders better comply with the European Union’s deforestation regulation, which has made it mandatory for companies to identify the plot of land where a product comes from and prove that no forests have been cleared on that site since 2020. As no single source of geospatial data can tell the whole story around any given plot of land, multiple datasets are needed so that more reliable insights can be drawn from a convergence of evidence. The UMD Global Forest Cover and Change data, also available on GFW, is one of the several public geospatial data sets that are included in Whisp to support deforestation risk assessment. 🌳 Find out more about Whisp and watch the demo by Rémi d'Annunzio from FAO here ➡️ https://lnkd.in/epKycFpG #eudr #fdap #deforestation #AIM4Forests
