North Carolina’s contest is running earlier than usual so we’re off to an early start for judge recruitment. A couple of things for this year: • The timing of your judging commitment --judging this year takes place Tuesday, Feb. 6 through Thursday, Feb. 15 • Once again, you will be judging entries from colleagues in North Carolina. To entice your return, MAGC is offering a couple of perks. • $5 contest entry discount: Judges can get $5 off each entry they submit in this year's contest. • $10 award ceremony discount: Judges get a $10 discount on their ticket to the awards ceremony. • See what other organizations are doing: Judging may inspire you, and it may validate the work you’ve been doing. • Contribute to MAGC's success! ⚖️ Have you articulated your narrative in the pre-trial motions?   If not, that’s a mistake.   It takes time to convert your long story into a short, clean one.   Have the courage to cut facts, time and again, until you have the right story.   That process starts long before trial starts.   At the pre-trial motions phase, you need to tell your story cleanly.   If the judge does not understand your narrative, you run the risk that the judge may unknowingly preclude evidence you need to tell your story.   All that starts with a clean, concise narrative.   If the Court doesn’t understand your case, why would you expect the jury to?   Once the Court understands my narrative, it should be easier to get my proof in front of the jury.
