On the debut episode of Slice of Energy, Jared S. Taylor had the pleasure of chatting with Juliann Edwards, Chief Development Officer at The Nuclear Company and Chair of U.S. Women in Nuclear (U.S. WIN), to discuss the future of nuclear energy and its massive impact on our planet’s energy future. ⚛️
Key takeaways from our conversation:
-Design once, build many: What nuclear can learn from industries like tech and aerospace to bring certainty to cost and timelines.
-Sustainability and clean energy: Why nuclear is a key player in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while providing long-term careers.
-Women in Nuclear: How Juliann is championing diversity and inclusion in an industry crucial for our future.
Juliann’s vision is clear—nuclear is not just about power generation; it’s about securing a cleaner, more sustainable future while creating jobs and innovations for generations to come. 🔋

We are excited to spotlight one of The Hamiltonian student authors, David Goh. David is a member of the Duke University AHS Chapter and author of “More than Fissile Friends: Securing Nuclear Partnerships through U.S. Leadership.” The article examines how the United States can leverage its standing as a nuclear technology leader to create a risk management framework for exporting nuclear energy equipment and expertise. #AlexanderHamiltonSociety#TheHamiltonian
Best invest now in Building Fusion power, space, and maritime propulsion systems and industry,
You talk about Nuclear (meaning Fission) and fail to discuss fusion.

The nuclear fission industry is, ignorant of what's happening around you.
Pull your uranium heads out, start adjusting your industry to fusion energy and start preparing to enter the commercially growing fusion energy industry. As it dawns on Earth like the sun.
Great Headline Guardian on Nuclear fission.

Commercial fusion electrical generation is a promising innovative sustainable and clean energy method.
By 2028, Helion is expected to start producing electricity from its first fusion commercial power plant, which will provide electricity to Microsoft. The plant will produce at least 50 MWe after an initial ramp-up period.

In a fireside chat earlier this month at SXSW 2024, three leading nuclear energy advocates Paris Ortiz-Wines from Stand Up for Nuclear, Tea Törmänen from WePlanet, and Heather Hoff from Mothers for Nuclear, spoke about all things nuclear and what it means to be trailblazing women in nuclear advocacy.
Moderated by Bryony Worthington, they delve into public perception, campaigns to save nuclear worldwide, and grassroots advocacy.
When discussing California's campaign to save Diablo Canyon, Wines said, “We need public support because what a climate injustice it would be if nobody stood up for our last single source of clean electricity.”
Touching on public perception, Törmänen said “We wanted to convince the left and the greens and the whole environmental movement in Finland. And we succeeded in this…It’s based on science. Nuclear is sustainable.”

So you have been told Nuclear Reactors will bring JOBS jobs, jobs - and be SAFE, safe, safe? Have you heard so much “good news” about them lately - that now you believe such nuclear developments will be so well managed - as to be a harmless and high profit energy solution?
Please consider this? Legal poker machines were also touted as being “harmless entertainment” that would bring more local jobs and rich community growth! They were “sold” to an unsuspecting public - that very same way as nuclear power reactors are being “sold” now! On illogical hype and hope, if we are given all the facts!
The poker machine push was based almost totally on bad research, promotional hype and lies!
We desperately swallowed the “pokies spin” because we were not told “the bad bits”! Only in the decades afterwards have we seen the truly huge rate of damage that has been done to communities, from poker machines!
The same strategies are being used now to get us to accept nuclear reactors I believe. We must not let this happen!
Please will you sign this petition from Wendy Farmer? Help to send a clear message?

I've been quiet on social media lately, but active behind the scenes.
I'm excited to share that the seven regions across Australia, once considered for nuclear reactors, are now united in resistance. They are all rejecting nuclear reactors.
The idea of nuclear power, as proposed by Dutton, is an attempt to hinder the ongoing transition throughout Australia, to halt the investments and job creation in renewable energy. However, these efforts are unstoppable, and the Coalition's attempts will not deter us. United our regions stand against nuclear power and are dedicated to advancing Australia's future in renewable energy. #renewableenergy#yes2renewables
We are asking Australians to stand with us and support the regions to say no to nuclear in Australia.

☢ The future of energy is not just about sustainability; it's about innovation and adaptability. Christopher Levesque's recent TEDx Talk sheds light on the pivotal role that nuclear energy plays in meeting modern energy demands while aligning with climate goals.
Drawing from his extensive experience in both the military and industry sectors, Levesque presents a compelling argument for nuclear energy as a key player in the transition to a more sustainable future. His insights remind us that the path to a greener planet is not a one-size-fits-all approach. It requires a multifaceted strategy, where nuclear energy stands as a reliable and powerful ally.
As we navigate the complexities of reducing carbon emissions and securing energy independence, it's clear that innovation in nuclear technology is not just a possibility—it's a necessity. The advancements on the horizon for nuclear energy are not only exciting but also essential for a sustainable and resilient energy landscape.
Let's continue the conversation and explore how nuclear innovation can propel us toward a brighter, cleaner future. Share your thoughts on the role of nuclear energy in sustainable development and let's engage in a meaningful dialogue. If you found this perspective insightful, feel free to repost it.

I had the privilege of returning to my graduate school, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, to speak about how advanced nuclear energy can play a crucial role in our clean energy future.
Growing up in New England, my interest in nuclear energy was sparked as a young adult — initially inspired by the Seabrook nuclear power plant and later shaped by my experiences in the US Navy and at TerraPower.
In this TEDX Talk, I delve into the challenges and opportunities we face in deploying nuclear energy to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving grid and the urgent need for climate action.
