This year, Love Parks week runs from 28 July to 6 August. It’s an annual campaign that celebrates parks and green spaces in your local area. And is the perfect excuse to go and visit your local park this summer, with many running free activities during this week as part of the campaign. Enjoying time outdoors can improve your health and well-being, help you to gain skills and knowledge, support nature and biodiversity along with enabling you to meet like-minded people. Parks and green areas also help to improve air quality and stress related illnesses are less common among those who frequently visit open green spaces. There are numerous ways to enjoy your local park, all of which are free and easily accessible, so why not try something new and try out one of the following at a park near you: 💪Outdoor gyms or tennis courts Outdoor exercise stimulates all five senses in a way that indoor activities can’t. 🧗♀️ Play areas for children Playing outdoors allows children to develop self-confidence, independence and self-esteem. 🦆 Nature watching Nature can generate many positive emotions, such as calmness, joy and can help facilitate better concentration. 👬 Picnics with friends and family The combination of eating good food with loved ones in the fresh air can leave you feeling relaxed and rejuvenated, even helping to promote a good nights sleep. 🐶 Dog walks A great way to explore new areas and meet other pet owners in your local area. 🚲 Bike ride Parks are a brilliant way to enjoy a cycle ride without the concern of passing traffic. Admittedly the forecast for this summer isn’t looking brilliant, however just remember - there’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing. Enjoy! #fivepillarsofvitality #pause #loveparks
