If you go to someone's LinkedIn page to block them, will they see that you checked the page? I'm not asking for anyone who cares. Blocking is the real self-care.

LinkedIn Hi LinkedIn Support, I’m reaching out on behalf of a friend whose LinkedIn account has been stuck in the auto-verification process for the past 12 days. Despite several attempts, he hasn’t been able to verify his account. We would appreciate any assistance to resolve this issue as quickly as possible. 🚨 Account Update 🚨 Dear Network, I wanted to let you know that my LinkedIn account was recently hacked, and unfortunately, I lost all my posts and information. Thankfully, I’ve regained access to the account, but it will take some time to restore everything and get things back to normal. I truly appreciate your support and patience as I rebuild my profile. Your engagement and connection mean a lot to me, and I look forward to reconnecting with all of you! Thanks again for your understanding! 🙏 #LinkedInUpdate #AccountRecovery #Support

Did you know your feed isn't the only place where hooks matter? There are two other places you need to think about too. 👇🏽 1. The notifications tab. When you click that bell at the top of your LinkedIn, it shows you all the relevant posts people you follow have made...along with those first couple of lines for each post. If your hook doesn't stand out from the crowd, you could be getting skipped over, even by the people who have tapped to get notified by all your posts. 2. Your profile. Whenever someone lands on your profile, they can see the 3 most recent posts you've made. But only the first couple of lines on each. Meaning your hook matters here too. And once you learn the tips and tricks to creating great hooks every time, the above won't be any problem for you... Which is why I take time every Monday morning to break down five hooks and why they work. This helped me in the beginning of my LinkedIn journey, and I believe it can help others too. So, make sure to give this a repost! ♻️

Please LinkedIn, I'm begging you. Make Saved Posts sortable or filterable or organizable. Or something betterable. I know, I know. I'm part of the problem. I save posts like Y2K is right around the corner. My saved posts go way back and are ... numerous. You'd think someone was offering me a prize for most saves or something. As far as I know they're not, right? Post-hoarder or not, I can't be the only person sick of forever-scrolling just to get to older saved posts. Who has the time? Who has the attention span? Who has the scroll stamina? To the LinkedIn powers that be, I plead -- end the suffering.

Can LinkedIn start doing something about... 1. The algorithms that reward low effort content. Seriously, it is not that hard to make the algorithm gauge originality, substance and effort. 2. The spammers, especially in the unmoderated groups, that post stolen content to push their agenda. This ruins it for everybody. 3. Why do we as users have to police something like 10 scammers a week in our inboxes? It is an endless deluge of these. I love LinkedIn, in general, it has made my professional life a whole lot more interesting and fulfilling. But it needs more work from LI to keep it professional, clean and rewarding.

"The Most Controversial Personal Trainer on the Internet" | Knows nothing about fitness | Looks like he's never been to a gym in his life | Has the worst opinions ever
Within 12 hours of getting back on LinkedIn after a ban, I have, once again been blocked. By whom? Not important. However. It is interesting to note that fragile men of a certain age really struggle with people who stand up to their 2/10 trolling. Maybe it’s an ego thing. Maybe it’s a bitter, divorced, and paying through the nose for kids that don’t even remember their birthday thing. Who knows? Anyway. If you are not a special snowflake and you would like to get stronger and musclyer, you may benefit from my report: “How to Build Muscle and Strength — The Natural Way”. You have to sign up to my DAILY emails to get it. But these contain informative and entertaining info that builds on what you will learn in the report. You can also unsubscribe if you find receiving emails about a topic you profess to care about stressful: https://lnkd.in/eeWYvR5j

Here's an experiment I've tried recently that might work for you: Instead of trying to prevent bad habits, replace them with good ones! Most immediate example was replacing Instagram for LinkedIn, all those previously wasted minutes of "checking" social media on nights and weekends are now transformed into a wealth of knowledge, community, and activity that will benefit my career and push me towards the person I want to be. That's a lot better than feeling anxiety or a sense of FOMO, but the action taken and time spent is the exact same :) Give it a shot and let me know what you think in the comments!

You're (probably) not doing anything "wrong" if you're not hearing back from LinkedIn messages you're sending. Folks who are #hiring are getting inundated more than I have ever seen on here. Imagine that your personal cell phone got 15 texts per day from people you know and have broken bread with IRL, who are asking for your help. These are people whose faces and stories you know. You have context and history with them, so helping them feels natural and is also easier. You don't need a full backstory. They're your friend. Meanwhile, you are also getting 500 texts per day from people you have never met and are asking for your help. You'd try to answer as many of the 15 texts as possible, while also juggling meetings and daycare pickups and the dog's vet appointment and your grandma's birthday. You might get back to 5 of them. The 500 folks you don't know? You just don't have time. That's how LinkedIn DMs have felt, lately. I get asked pretty often how to get a response on LinkedIN. My best advice? Follow up 2-3 times (politely!), look for posts from that person and comment on them, and then move on if you don't hear back...knowing that it feels like a personal rejection but it most likely isn't 💘

Reposting for visibility. It's not you, it's not personal. It's an insane job market! Last week I casually hopped on Linkedin before dinner with friends to apply to a few jobs. The first few jobs I clicked on: Posted 6 hours ago - Closed to applicants Posted 10 hours ago - Closed to applicants Posted 1 day ago - Closed to applicants Be patient and get creative! The old ways of applying aren't working anymore. We as candidates need to step it up and do something different to get recognized. Me? I'm dropping in on companies in person with my resume. Hey, it worked for me when I was 16, why can't it work now? #jobhuntingseason #advice #layoffs #jobsearch #jobseekers
