Today, on July 3rd, new banknotes will be issued in Japan. The chosen portrait for the new 1,000 yen note is Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, one of the founders of Terumo. 1921,as thermometer imports to Japan stopped due to war, Terumo was founded by a group of physicians and scientists, including Dr. Shibasaburo Kitasato, to meet the desperate need for production of quality thermometers in Japan. Since its establishment, Terumo has been pioneering the development of various medical devices in Japan, supporting the foundation of healthcare in the country. We have developed numerous ""first in Japan"" and ""world's first"" devices, expanding our contributions to healthcare from Japan to the world. We will continue to work together as one Terumo Group and strive to be a valuable company for patients, medical professionals, and society at large.
