Since Autumn 2023, Tesco Ireland has successfully moved all own brand eggs to barn, free range, and organic eggs, reflecting a welfare commitment to do so before 2025. Crackin' news 🥚 Two years ahead of schedule, working with John Mohan and his 120 strong team in Greenfield Foods, Co Monaghan; we’re extremely proud to source and sell 100% Irish eggs exclusively in stores and online. Tesco has worked with our strategic egg supplier, Greenfield Foods for over 25 years, and weathered many storms together, which is the testament to true partnership and commitment. Greenfield are the egg-sperts in the industry leading the way on sustainability including zero waste to landfill, the use of solar energy, controlled water systems and much more to improve and maintain quality on site. Annually, almost 20 million dozen Irish eggs are purchased by Tesco customers in Ireland. In buying their eggs from us, they too are recognising the commitment to quality, Irish sourcing, and choose to support the Irish egg farming industry. 🍳 And we’re not done yet, we’re well on the way to transitioning products made using eggs to be cage free too. 🐔 We’re *egg-static* about this progress and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
