Watching India’s sports landscape evolve has been inspiring, especially with the government’s recent efforts to make sports accessible and competitive for everyone. Here’s what I find especially impactful: 1️⃣ Shifting Policies: From the All-India Council of Sports (1954) to the ambitious National Sports Policy 2024, India’s focus on grassroots engagement and elite performance is stronger than ever. 2️⃣ Key Programs Moving the Needle: National Sports Policy 2024: Expanding infrastructure and identifying talent early. Khelo India: Bringing sports into schools and making facilities more accessible. TOPS (Target Olympic Podium Scheme): Elevating top athletes with world-class training. 3️⃣ Seeing the Impact: Khelo India and TOPS have boosted youth participation and made a real difference in India’s global sports presence, with new facilities even reaching rural areas. 🏟️ Keeping this momentum will need sustained support and collaboration. With the right focus, I truly believe India’s sports culture is set for incredible growth. What impact do you think these initiatives will have on India’s future in sports? I’d love to hear your thoughts below! 👇 #SportsDevelopment #IndiaSports #KheloIndia #SportsPolicy #OlympicDream

Unlocking India's Sports Potential: A Strategic Approach To gain a competitive edge in sports, India can adopt a cluster-based management approach, categorizing sports into: - Precision sports (shooting, archery) - Team sports (hockey, football) Prioritize sports with high Olympic medal potential and relatively low investment needs. Leverage established sports like cricket as cash cows to support emerging ones. Key strategies: - Promote women's participation through dedicated facilities and clubs - Integrate sports education with academic curriculum, focusing on genuine interest and talent - Establish sports universities in each state, adopting successful models like Odisha and Haryana - Encourage state-level adoption of specific sports - Offer dual stipends to athletes: fixed and performance-based variable stipends - Ensure effective execution, keeping politics and corruption out of sports By implementing these strategies, India can unlock its true sports potential and achieve global supremacy. #olympics #sportspolicy #sportsstrategy #india #parisolympics

There is no disgrace in losing from an equally capable competitor. Last night more than 5 crore viewers were watching a sport which was not even remotely watched in India few years ago. However, my concern is India’s ranking in Olympics and disheartening performance this time. What exactly is happening to our sports ecosystem in India ? Is it fully corrupted ? Is it ignored by Government ? Does people find no value in pursuing sports as a career ? Where is the credibility of spends done on resources for athletes ? So many questions arise when I dig down this topic. However, on the ground level it can simply start with involving children into sports apart from the mainstream ones. Until the pressure of 10th-12th-Grad-Job comes into the picture, they should be allowed to explore their interests and see where they can be a great fit. Let me know what you all think about this in the comment section ⬇️

Awakening the Giant: India's Path to Becoming a Global Sports Powerhouse The 2020 Tokyo Olympics was India's most successful season. With only seven medals, we proudly raised our heads. For what length of time will we tolerate living in India, where winning medals at the Olympics is a major accomplishment, and content ourselves with meek aspirations? As the most populous nation, what do we lack? Is it the Management or the Talent? India, as the sixth largest economy in the world, can improve both the infrastructure and the managerial quality. Can provide an organised framework for the next generation to choose sports as their main profession. Despite having a population of 1.44 billion, only 112 Indian athletes are participating in 69 medal events across 16 sports. India has the resources and potential, but due to a lack of confidence and vision, the country is known simply as India and not as a major powerhouse. It is imperative to recognize the immense potential that lies within India’s vast population. Our current participation levels in international sporting events do not reflect our country's capabilities. To change this narrative, we must invest in nurturing talent from the grassroots level, developing robust infrastructure, and creating a culture that celebrates and supports sports excellence. By instilling confidence and a clear vision, we can elevate India's standing in the global sports arena, achieving not only recognition but also pride and success on the world stage. It is time for India to realize its potential and make its mark as a dominant force in international sports. #Indian #sports #Development #Future #SportsBusiness #SportsMarketing #Olympics #Grassroot

Why is Scoretab needed? What is the Purpose? Why did I start on this entrepreneurial journey? The Paris Olympics 2024 has come to a close. India, which is the fifth largest economy in the world, had a chance to win 95 medals from 69 events yet only six came home this year. It had the chance to participate in as many as 42 disciplines, yet only featured in 16. The 1.4 billion Indian citizens had hopes pinned on many of the athletes for medals and were left bitterly disappointed at the final outcome of 1 Silver, 5 Bronze, 6 fourth place and 100 gms excess weight finishes. All the respectable and reputable news articles will have you believe that India’s Olympic performance gap is primarily due to inadequate investment, poor governance, and underdeveloped infrastructure. To bridge this gap, India must adopt a more comprehensive approach, focusing on consistent investment, effective governance, and grassroots development. With the right strategies, India has the potential to significantly improve its standing in future Olympic Games. But, that is not the whole truth. What India lacks is the 1.4 billion citizens actively participating in cheering for our very talented athletes. Having an interest once in 4 years does not benefit anybody. Even in our professional lives we seek validation and encouragement from our work place to do better. Sports viewership can significantly enhance India's global sports performance in several ways: 1. Increased Sponsorship and Funding: Higher viewership attracts sponsors, leading to more funding for athletes, events, and infrastructure development. 2. Improved Athlete Morale: Media coverage builds a strong fan base, motivating athletes to perform better knowing they have national support. 3. Talent Identification: Widespread coverage can help identify and nurture new talent by inspiring young athletes and highlighting their performances. 4. Promoting Lesser-Known Sports: Media can bring attention to sports beyond cricket, diversifying India's success in various disciplines. 5. Public and Government Support: Widespread media coverage can lead to increased public interest and pressure on governments to invest more in sports development. In essence, Scoretab acts as a bridge between sports and the audience, helping to build and sustain a strong sports culture. If you want to feel proud as an Indian in the sports arena then it needs to start with your support for the athletes. #Scoretab #BillionCheers #IndiaSportsCalendar #TeamIndia

𝗔𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗵 𝗞𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗮'𝘀 $𝟱𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆, 𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 $𝟭𝟯𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟯𝟬. Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, has shared an exciting vision for sports in India. The sports industry is worth $𝟱𝟮 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 and is expected to grow to $𝟭𝟯𝟬 𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 by 2030. This growth means that India is on its way to becoming a major player in the world of sports! Here’s what stood out: ➡️ States and Corporates Must Lead the Way: Kant highlighted the need for Indian states to “own” specific sports and develop champions from the grassroots level. He also emphasized the critical role of private sector investment in fueling the growth of sports across the country. ➡️ Grassroots Movement is Key: Universal access to sports is essential. Kant proposed reserving 25% of college admissions for students excelling in sports, creating a robust talent pipeline. Strong university programs, like those in the U.S. and China, could help India produce world-class athletes. ➡️ Aiming for the 2036 Olympics: India aspires to host the 2036 Olympics, but success isn’t just about building infrastructure—it’s about producing medal-winning athletes. This is a long-term vision that requires everyone’s support. ➡️ Beyond Cricket – Diversifying the Industry: The suggestion to create IPL-style leagues for non-cricket sports is a game-changer. It could bring attention to underrepresented sports and open up exciting opportunities for athletes and fans. This is a critical moment for the Indian sports ecosystem. We believe in this vision at our institute and are excited to see how it transforms the industry. Let’s all work together to make India a leading global force in sports. So I’m really excited by India’s recent push to transform its sports culture. The government’s initiatives are setting the stage for a more inclusive and competitive environment—and it’s inspiring to watch. Here’s what I find truly transformative: 1️⃣ Evolving Policies Starting from the All-India Council of Sports (1954) to the ambitious National Sports Policy 2024, India’s policies are actively supporting both grassroots participation and elite performance. 2️⃣ Key Initiatives Making Waves National Sports Policy 2024: Building infrastructure and identifying talent early. Khelo India: Expanding youth sports in schools and increasing facility access. TOPS: Providing elite athletes with top training and resources to reach global podiums. 3️⃣ The Real Impact Khelo India has brought youth participation to new heights, while TOPS has boosted our international performance. Improved facilities are opening doors for talent across urban and rural areas alike. 🏟️ But to keep the momentum going, long-term funding, inclusivity, and public awareness are essential. There’s a huge opportunity to integrate sports into education, elevate women’s sports, and foster public-private partnerships. With continued focus, I believe India’s sports culture will thrive even further. How do you see government initiatives shaping India’s sports future? Drop your thoughts below—I’d love to hear your perspective! 👇 #SportsDevelopment #IndiaSports #KheloIndia #SportsPolicy #OlympicDream
