cold in place is an excellent methodology and more sustainable.
Our team at Coughlin Company would like to invite you to attend our Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR) Open House on Thursday, July 25th from 11 am to 1 pm in Beaver, Oklahoma. What is Cold In-Place Recycling (CIR)? CIR is a partial depth asphalt rehabilitation construction technique that mills up a road a full lane width at a time, crushes the RAP down to specified size, mixes the RAP with asphalt to create a 100% RAP high-performance cold mix that is then paver laid and compacted, all in one-pass. Yes, there is a lot going on in this one pass operation and it’s best to see it in-person to fully understand the process. That’s why we’re hosting this open house. Here are the details: ❓ WHO ❓ Coughlin Company is hosting the event. ❓ WHAT ❓ Cold In-Place Recycling Open House where attendees will be able to see a live CIR project in person. Lunch will be provided at noon for those that register. ❓ WHEN ❓ Thursday, July 25th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. ❓ WHERE ❓ The project is located on County Road EW-10 (Beaver Road) near Beaver, OK and lunch will be provided at the Beaver County Fairgrounds (1107 Douglas Avenue, Beaver, OK 73932) at noon. ❓ WHY ❓ Come and see the CIR process and learn more about it. We’ll have people on the road and at the Fairgrounds available to answer your questions and provide project specific details. We’re encouraging folks to register for the event. Registration will get you on our distribution list for any weather/construction related updates and helps us judge the number of lunches that need to be provided. Feel free to share this invite with anyone that might be interested. Coughlin Company is excited to host this event and we look forward to seeing you on the 25th! #coldinplace #sustainableconstruction #gogreensavegreen #asphalt #openhouse

As the world grapples with more and more environmental issues, it's high time we take a closer look at the seemingly harmless stuff we do that might be messing with nature. Enter floating docks – those things we often use for fun, business, or just chilling by the water. Lately, these docks have raised some eyebrows for their environmental impact. So, let's look at the green side of floating docks, weighing the good and the not-so-great and checking out some eco-friendly alternatives: https://lnkd.in/gj2UWjJ5

When consultants talk about their work, they talk in terms of “added value”. It is the life-blood of what they do. It is the reason they exist! But how could at it are they really? New York City has introduced a new initiative that's familiar to many: placing trash bags inside trash bins when taking out the trash. Prior to this, the city invested $4 million to determine the best approach for implementing trash bins. In 2022, New York’s Department of Sanitation and the city’s Economic Development Corporation awarded a $4 million contract to McKinsey & Company to analyse the trash bin pilot program. Over a 20-week contract, McKinsey consultants used studies from other cities that rolled out similar initiatives to determine which type of trash bins would suit New York best. They then gave their recommendations to the city, and Mayor Eric Adams rolled out the new bins Monday. In my view, examples like these does raise a serious question, where is the value?

A fascinating tour to learn how environmerntally sensible mining lithium is. Who knew that you could generate electricity and extract minerals in essentially the same operation.
CTR was honored to host many of California's incredibly hard working County Supervisors last week for a tour of our D&O plant and labs. A special thanks to Miguel Figueroa, MPA and Rebecca Terrazas-Baxter and the County of Imperial for organizing this highly educational day. Sharing knowledge and information is so critical, especially when we are all working toward the same goal of clean energy independence for the U.S. It was a pleasure and an honor!

1.7km POLYwalk, Brancaster, Peddars Way and Norfolk Coast Path What has Polydeck provided❓ Supply and installation of 1.7km x 1.5m GRP POLYwalk , incorporating 30no. passing places, 4no. viewing platforms, 22no. benches/ perches and handrail to approximately 100lm of elevated sections of POLYwalk. Installed during the extremely wet winter of 2023/24, starting the end of October 2023, and completed April 2024. The previous timber boardwalk was closed due to health and safety concerns over its rapidly deteriorating condition. The boardwalk had failed after less than 12 years, which had replaced a previous timber boardwalk which had lasted 20 years. Timber boardwalk lifespans tend to fail around 10-12yrs. Polydeck's POLYwalk product has a design life in excess of 75 years. 🤩 A new and improved boardwalk was required for compliance with the Equality Act 2010 – something that the old structure did not provide. 🌍 Additional, due to Polydeck's unique recycled plastic foam core, the project removed approx. 400,000 500ml plastic bottles from landfill, helping Norfolk CC meet net zero ’30 targets. 🌍 #bridge #netzero #sustainability #green #recycle #equality 💫 Check out our new video below 💫 https://lnkd.in/eZnXmki3

🐛 If you’re located in the southern or midwestern U.S., you’ve likely heard a thing or two about the recent cicada emergence. Despite the buzz (or hiss), cicadas aren’t the only seasonal nuisances for facility managers to navigate. Conflict of interest is not just unique to EPA, medical/health, legal/judicial, and countless other industries it a characteristic of “civilized, smart, advanced” behavior, modern society as a whole, is indicative or a method of operation not from Americas. Subverting the point, defeating the purpose of who we are, what we are supposed to be doing becomes clear when the pattern of behavior here in California, when the coexistence non race, non greed/waste/trash/pollution based methodology is understood. Helping me establish a live whole urchin auction, high end retail outlet, interactive education center, in addition to a kelp restoration/ocean carbon capture location can change course and understanding of “human” history, the two sides of human behavior spectrum, human historical timeline and behavior analysis. Truth can be ugly, uncomfortable, but is a unique puzzle piece that makes too much sense to ignore, our contrasting methods of operation have to be dealt with, understood and acknowledged, confronted. Red Sea urchin, how it works, its role in it’s environment can help us understand our own roles as human on this earth. They don’t work against kelp, their own environment like western scientists like to teach, promote by the way. That is basis of eastern, western “civilization”, against nature.
