Teton County Idaho Road & Bridge department took advantage of a late winter. A few weeks ago they were hard at work installing larger culverts to ensure the road can be maintained well into the future.

The time between Memorial Day and Labor Day is called the ‘100 Deadliest Days’ because that period results in an uptick in roadway deaths. And road construction increases the risk of a crash. DON'T do these things to stay safe on the roads this summer. #DrivingTips #RoadSafety #RoadConstruction

Thinking of extending your lakefront dock as far as the eye can see? Hold on! Let's dive into the facts about dock lengths, zoning, and what it means for your waterfront property. Myth: No local zoning ordinance? Unlimited dock length! Well, not so fast. Unreasonably long docks can disrupt the lake's navigability, impacting other boaters. Even without zoning rules, you're not in the clear. The Michigan Marine Safety Act grants the DNR the authority to order dock removal if it affects lake navigation. Plus, waterfront neighbors can take legal action if your dock interferes with their rights. Ready to learn more about waterfront property nuances? Riverside Bridge in Christian County is Sinking? Sunday, March 31, 2024 Christian County Highway Department Phone: (417) 581-2112 ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES 1106 W Jackson St Ozark, MO 65721 Highway Administrator Miranda Beadles, P.E. Please call 417-582-4389 County Roadway Superintendent Brent Young Presiding Commissioner for Christian County Lynn Morris (417)582-4304 lmorris@christiancountymo.gov Ozark Special Road District Barbara Hover - PRESIDENT (417) 581-1632 Open Letter Sent out: Sun, Oct 8, 10:07 PM Dear Lynn Morris, Commissioner of Christian County, Ozark Missouri I am writing to you as a concerned citizen and a frequent user of the new Riverside Bridge that spans the Finley River in Ozark, Missouri. I have noticed some signs of settling or movement at the embankment of the bridge, which I believe could pose a potential safety hazard for the bridge users and the nearby residents. I have done some research on the internet and found some links that show the construction process and the design features of the bridge. Here are some of the links that I found: [New Riverside Bridge opens in Ozark]: This is a news article that reports the opening of the new bridge on November 7, 2020. It mentions that the bridge has two 12-foot lanes and a 10-foot-wide pedestrian and bike lane. It also states that the bridge is 11 feet higher than the old bridge, which means it is less prone to flooding. [Riverside Bridge Project]: This is a webpage that provides information about the project background, timeline, funding, and partners. It also has a video that shows the relocation of the old bridge to a nearby site next to the historic Ozark Mill. [Riverside Bridge Design]: This is a PDF document that shows the design drawings and specifications of the new bridge. It includes details such as the bridge geometry, cross-sections, elevations, foundations, abutments, piers, girders, deck, railings, lighting, and drainage. Based on these links, I have some questions and concerns about the bridge settling or movement. First of all, I wonder if the bridge has any expansion joints or other devices to accommodate thermal movements due to temperature changes or solar radiation. I know that some bridges do not have expansion joints and use integral abutments and semi-integral piers instead, but I am not sure if this is the case for the new Riverside Bridge. #springfieldmo #nixamo #land #ozarks #bransonmo #republicmo #local #joplinmo #ozark #sgf #missouri #bestof #rogersvillemo #mag #springfieldmissouri #ky #kolr #news #kspr #sgfmo #showmespringfieldmo #downtownsgf #girl #bransonlanding #lovespringfield #bolivarmo #bransonmissouri #spots #springfield #ozarkmo #springfieldmo #nixamo #land #ozarks #bransonmo #republicmo #local #joplinmo #ozark #sgf #missouri #bestof #rogersvillemo #mag #springfieldmissouri #ky #kolr #news #kspr #sgfmo #showmespringfieldmo #downtownsgf #girl #bransonlanding #lovespringfield #bolivarmo #bransonmissouri #spots #springfield

Did you know that US 1 which runs right through #DowntownDelray ends in Fort Kent, Maine? The story of US 1 begins in 1925 with creation of the US numbered highway system. Main east-west roads were given even numbers and the major north-south highways were assigned odd numbers. That's how the Atlantic Coast Highway running from Fort Kent, Maine to Miami, Florida became US 1. In 1939, Florida extended US 1 to Key West, stretching 2,446 miles. In the mid-1970s, the state DOT widened US 1 to three lanes. But that caused cars to come speeding through Downtown Delray Beach. Our city's walkability was being greatly impacted. In the early 2000s, city leaders along with the DDA and CRA lobbied to return the road back to 2 lanes in each direction through Downtown Delray. US 1 went through an extensive $14 million construction project to reduce the lanes, add sidewalk space, bike lanes and make it more pedestrian-friendly through our town. Delray is one of the most walkable downtowns in all of South Florida, with our main street going all the way to the beach and the changes to US 1 are another reason we are the #VillageByTheSea! #LoveDelray
