Finding Great Talent is Hard. Keeping It is Even Harder. We all know the job market has changed. It’s no longer just about filling positions; it’s about competing for the best people in an incredibly tight market. Today’s candidates are not just looking for a paycheck. They want purpose, flexibility, and opportunities to grow—things that weren't always top priorities a few years ago. High turnover and a shortage of skilled talent make it even tougher, and younger generations are leading the charge with new expectations around work-life balance and meaningful careers. The competition isn't just local anymore—it's global. Remote work has opened up a world of possibilities, and companies everywhere are fighting for the same top talent. But here’s the truth: the companies that win won’t be the ones throwing the biggest salaries around. They’ll be the ones creating environments where people feel valued, inspired, and empowered to grow. It’s about offering more than a job; it's also about offering a future. So, how are you keeping your best people around? What’s working for you in this competitive market? #TalentWars #RecruitmentChallenges #MeaningfulWork #EmployeeExperience #Flexibility #CareerDevelopment #RemoteWork #WorkCulture

Ask Jennifer / Career question of the day: Q: I see a role posted that I'm interested in but it's in another city. What are the chances that they will let the job be remote? A: I'd say, pretty unlikely. Many companies are headquartered in one city and often can only hire in that place. Payroll is different per state. Also, if the job is hybrid or in the office, they likely will hire someone who is local: or who can be local. It always comes down to options too. If 1000 people apply to a role, the company can be very choosy. If it's a hard to fill role, they may need to consider other options.

Flexibility: The New Workplace Priority One of my candidates declined our offer on his first day, explaining that he had accepted a better opportunity elsewhere. When I asked if we could match their offer, he shared that while the other company offered a lower salary, they provided a remote work option—and that made all the difference. Curious, I asked, “Why choose less pay over a higher salary?” His response was clear: “It’s not just about the money; it’s about flexibility.” With a young child at home, the ability to save time and costs by working remotely was a top priority for him. Unfortunately, we couldn’t accommodate remote work for his role, but I completely understood his decision and wished him the best. This experience reinforced an important truth: Flexibility isn’t a perk anymore—it’s a priority. Sometimes, the best offer isn’t the one with the biggest paycheck; it’s the one that aligns with a candidate’s values and life circumstances. #Careers #JobSeekers #TalentAcquisition #WorkplaceFlexibility

For clients hiring in today's market, flexibility is key! 🌟 Over the past 18 months, I've noticed a significant trend: candidates are increasingly prioritizing flexibility over higher salary packages. In many cases, the decision to accept a job offer comes down to just one extra day of working from home. This small adjustment can make a world of difference, especially for individuals with families, by eliminating commuting stress and enhancing their weekly routines. When discussing offers with clients, it's crucial to understand that candidates highly value that extra day of remote work. While a higher salary may seem appealing, the flexibility to work from home can be a game-changer for many professionals. Now, more than ever, flexibility is a key factor in attracting and retaining top talent. By reevaluating your flexible working policies and listening to the needs of candidates during the hiring process, you can ensure that you are not missing out on top talent in today's competitive market. #Flexibility #Hiring #TopTalent #RemoteWork #WorkLifeBalance 🚀 #equilibriumjobs #rec2rec #recruitingrecruiters #rec4rec
