In this drawing lesson your students will have a directed line drawing lesson for how to draw a bicycle with a cute little birdie. This lesson is enjoyable for both hesitant and excited artists. You will find that students who may not feel confident about drawing will love this lesson because you will guide them with step by step instructions using simple shapes. And more experienced artists will have fun adding more details to make their drawing even more unique. You can keep it simple - using crayons- or go really complex by taking everything from your arsenal - watercolor paints, crayons, markers and colored pencils- and letting your students go wild. This is a great stand alone lesson for a sub or if you just want a fun mini break during test week. This is A FUN SUB LESSON! This is also a create jumping off point for writing/telling fun stories as a classroom activity. Make sure to click the GREEN STAR near my store name so that you can stay in touch with my store. I create new lessons every week. https://lnkd.in/gpmtVeTz

Book: Principles of Color Design [Wucius Wong - Van Nostrand Reinhold - 1987] This book was conceived to fulfill a need of a book which tackles both color and design with the aim of establishing a solid foundation for the beginner who needs to develop a personal color sense. It reexamines common design principles and takes a fresh look at popular color theories. Illustrations, taken from students exercises, introduce methods for systematic color thinking, which lead to ways of developing color schemes. This volume is divided into 3 parts: 1-Design Principles; 2-Color Principles and 3-Color Design in which everyone of them brings lots of valuable illustrations that give us many fundamentals in color theory through a well structured approach. I strongly believe this work can bring much clarity to anyone who is interested learning about color theory. #ColorTheory #ColorDesign #DesignPrinciples #ColorPrinciples #ColorThinking

As a kid in school, I loved art class. Well, to be fair, recess was my favorite time of the entire elementary school experience but the colorful crayons, construction paper, sticky glue jars, and collection of paints, marred clay sticks, round-tipped scissors, and popsicle sticks came in a close second! 🖌 🎨 And the pure joy of immersing BOTH hands into a pile of paint globs and watching colors explode and swirl under my direction onto a blank canvas! 🖼 This #wordsmatter post celebrates the spirit to #create … the chance to capture, craft, shape, coax, contort our imaginations onto something tangible – permission to get messy! The rest of school felt like fuzzy logic to me. The hardline academics of rote, rules, reading, and exams cramped my style (and confidence). That’s when I realized we are rewarded for precise answers, required to demonstrate exacting standards. The unbound joy of art didn’t seem to count for much. By the time high school rolled around, the only thing I held in my hands where mechanical pencils, protractors, calculators, and composition notebooks. 📝 SOLVING things became more important than CREATING things. It still feels that way today. Let’s consider the #defineinspiration that unleashing more of our creative talents can actually help us solve more things - for ourselves, for each other, and together. 🙌 Week 33 (Aug 12) – / k r ē – ‘ ā t / v. 1. messy matters 2. blank canvas boost 3. imagination in action #creativity #innovation #future #artclassrocks

Color Matters Do you remember learning ROY G. BIV in kindergarten? The acronym of the hues or colors that make up the rainbow. One of the purposes was to help you remember all of the colors that exist. And you remember what white is? And what black is? Great! ❓ QUESTION: Then why is black the only color in your closet?! 📌 ANSWER: [If you’re honest] it’s because you’re lazy. The most common reply to that question is “Black is easy to match.” Just STOP. You now have more than enough black in your closet and, if you’ve taken a peek recently, you’ll notice that you actually have about 10+ different blacks in your closet based on the usage, materials, texture, etc. 📌 ASSIGNMENT 101: Take something black and pair it with a color, ANY COLOR. Guess what? They match! 📌 ASSIGNMENT 201: Take a black print you already own and pair it with ANY COLOR found in the print other than black. Guess what? They match! You’ve now successfully implemented a kindergarten lesson into your professional life. And now when they say “everything you need, you learned in kindergarten”, you’ll know it’s true! #coloranalysis #visualresume #wardrobeessentials #imageconsultant

SOLEY CREATIVE MATHS 🧮 When we were in high school, a C was thought of as a fail (welcome to the world of an all-girls grammar school)! There’s two C’s in success though and we believe its for good reason…our brand values are best described in this simple formula made up of our favourite words starting with C. We start with a genuine want to collaborate, while curiosity means we love to dive into the minds of our founders to understand the mission and help us put vision into the visuals. Multiply that by our creative process and communication every step of the way and you get designs that are commercial and fill you with confidence. What are you projecting for the year ahead? #brandvalues #designprocess #designstudio
