The 2024 Report on the Italian #Architecture, #Engineering and #Construction Industry has been published and presented today at Ance in Rome. The report, now in its fourteenth edition, was drawn up by the research company Guamari Srl. Based on the analysis of the financial statements of the main companies, curated by Professor Aldo Norsa, former professor at the Iuav University of Venice and current scientific director of Guamari, together with Doctor Stefano Vecchiarino, has developed the ranking of the 200 leading companies of the project in the AEC Italian industry. The firm focuses on top players in the professional services sector, such as architectural and engineering #design, and in the constructions and infrastructure works.

🚧 Building a More Efficient Future in Aotearoa 🛠️ The Government is progressing work on a new opt-in self-certification scheme for low-risk residential building work. This initiative is designed for qualified building professionals and accredited companies, aiming to reduce the need for third-party reviews by Building Consent Authorities (BCAs). As client-side project managers, we know that quality control is key. In our experience, contractors don't always get it right the first time — sometimes they need to come back to fix a few things. Some contractors are definitely better than others, and we think the new scheme could benefit from recognising that. 💡 Our Suggestion: What if there was a pathway for contractors to earn the right to self-certify? 🛠️ Contractors could undergo a certification process where they receive checks on a certain number of jobs. ✅ If these checks are 100% correct, they could then receive the green light to self-certify on similar jobs. 🔍 Follow this up with periodic audits to maintain high standards. We believe this could help balance efficiency with quality assurance, ensuring that the new system works effectively for all stakeholders. We are so excited to announce that the UMA Foundation has been awarded the Scaling that Works grant from the National MEP Network in collaboration with the Blue Forge Alliance Foundation. This grant was awarded to programs with proven success to build a more diverse and skilled workforce. Our team has been selected to participate in the Manufacturing Women in Leadership program and the Dream Team. This new program will complement the UMA Women in Manufacturing Initiative, supported by Autoliv. UMA will join a cohort funded by Blue Forge Alliance of other MEPs, including New Jersey Manufacturing Extension partnership NJMEP, OpExChange, Powered by SCMEP South Carolina Manufacturing Extension partnership ) and the Center for Economic Growth, New York MEP FuzeHub. We are thrilled to be able to expand our resources to help women succeed in leadership roles in manufacturing and to bring manufacturing careers to the K-12 schools in the Granite School District.
