A new threat bulletin issued Wednesday warns that China’s People’s Liberation Army “continues to target” current and former Western fighter pilots to help teach Chinese pilots how to master one of the hardest maneuvers in aviation: taking off and landing on aircraft carriers. In some cases, the naval aviators may be unaware they are helping train pilots for China’s military. read more at : https://lnkd.in/gATcSZrs

🌐 Collaboration Across Borders: Foreign Military Detachments at U.S. Bases Did you know that several U.S. military bases host detachments from foreign nations? These collaborative efforts strengthen international partnerships and enhance military capabilities. Let’s explore a few examples: 🇩🇪 Germany: The German Armed Forces Command, headquartered in Reston, Virginia, serves as the administrative and logistical hub for all German military activities in the U.S. and Canada. It’s where coordination, pilot training, and defense material management occur. 🇮🇹 Italy: Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas hosts the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program (ENJJPT). This program trains pilots from 14 NATO member nations. Upon graduation, these aviators continue country-specific training. 🇳🇱 The Netherlands: Dutch pilots, once trained specifically on the F-16 fighter aircraft at Morris Air National Guard Base in Arizona, now utilize Luke Air Force Base for training on the newer F-35 aircraft. 🇸🇬 Singapore: The 428th Fighter Squadron at Idaho’s Mountain Home Air Force Base includes Singaporean airmen. Under the Peace Carvin V program, they train and qualify on the F-15 alongside their American counterparts. 🇬🇧 United Kingdom: Edwards Air Force Base in California hosts the British Royal Air Force’s XVII Test and Evaluation Squadron. Their expertise contributes to bringing F-35 aircraft into service. These are not independent foreign bases but rather collaborative initiatives within U.S. military installations. 🤝 Feel free to share your thoughts or ask questions in the comments! 👇

During World War Two, as with today, military logistics is one of the main keys to make any command an effective fighting force regardless of the theatre of operations. This was especially true for the US Navy’s Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron’s, without the pre-deployment training the volunteer boat crews received, and the repair and maintenance skills of the Base Force personnel, the boats would have rapidly deteriorated due to the demands of combat operations. This book focuses on the advanced pre-deployment training bases in Miami, Florida and Toboga Island, Panama, the construction and command structure in addition to the training the crews received at these locations. This book also focuses on the various PT Boat bases developed during the Solomons Islands campaign, their construction by the Seabees, base facilities and support services they provided to the high performance and maintenance intensive Motor Torpedo Boat Squadrons. It is currently available at Amazon.👍🏻😎⚓️🔱🇺🇸

Things that make you go hmmm. With all the discussion about what's going on in the Red Sea regarding the Houthi attacks on merchant ships, the hazard posed to our Military Sealift Command ships in the area, and the response by the U.S. Navy, here's something to think about. To command a Navy surface warship, the captain needs to be qualified as a surface warfare officer. To command a submarine the captain needs to be qualified a submarine warfare officer. To command an aircraft carrier the captain needs to be qualified as an aviation warfare officer (either as a naval aviator or a naval flight officer). Submarine Groups are commanded by submarine warfare officers. Carrier Strike Groups or Amphibious Ready Groups are commanded by admirals qualified either in aviation warfare or surface warfare. Now you, like myself, can see the logic in this. But let's consider this for a moment. Military Sealift Command is responsible for the maritime logistics and ships that keep our warships replenished. They move the three Bs (bullets, bombs, and beans). Equally as important, they operate the tankers that provide the fuel to keep our destroyers and aircraft operating. So why is it that none of the Military Sealift Command leadership is qualified as a strategic sealift officer? Not the admiral in charge, nor any of the Navy captains who are area commanders.

Plans are for the US military to retire these. That is absolutely absurd as is the intention of the US Air Force with the A-10. Instead, these aircraft should be turned over to the air National Guard and Air Force reserve as well as the Naval/Marine reserve. Furthermore volunteers that have retired from the military can assist in the maintenance of these aircraft. There is still a place for these, even though they are not stealthy, they can be pulled out of the reserves and air National Guard to be used in the time of warfare. Do you have spent billions and billions and dollars on aircraft and then just retire them to the boneyard is absolutely stupidity and a waste of our tax dollars , as well as a decrease in our capabilities. If I were president of the United States, I would sign an executive order to maintain these aircraft on a sideline basis, primarily with volunteers and reserves. Retired naval and Air Force pilots could volunteer as auxiliary. Furthermore, students in ROTC in colleges could volunteer to train and be back up as well. With a volunteer Force at state levels, essentially Militias these would serve ax security of the states. This would include other types of aircraft, such as helicopters etc. https://lnkd.in/gN4c3QeR

Revolutionising Aircrew Safety: The Future of Female Aircrew Equipment As military aviation continues to evolve, the equipment that ensures the safety and performance of our aircrew must keep pace. With female representation in the RAF targeted to reach 30% by 2030 and the USAF making strides in diversifying its ranks, the demand for investment and focus on optimising aircrew flight equipment (AFE) for female aircrew has never been greater. Authored by Survitec’s Fast Jet Category Manager and former RAF Aircrew Systems Warrant Officer, Matt Fields, FdSc IEng MIET GCGI, our latest white paper examines a key area of development - flight equipment that meets the unique anthropometric needs of female aviators and the critical role it plays in maximising safety and operational performance. 💡Read the full white paper and discover how we’re setting the standard for female aircrew flight equipment safety and performance. 👉 https://lnkd.in/e387aVb9 #SurvitecDefence | #AircrewFlightEquipment | #FemaleAircrew | #PilotProtection | #MilitaryAviation
