Texas Land & Liberty Coalition’s Post

Action! 📽 What an experience! True grassroots in action! Thank you PSR 1880, Conservative Texans For Energy Innovation, and American Energy Action for making this happen. These stories are important and need to be told.

We were thrilled to host a film crew from American Energy Action this past weekend. To say we covered a lot of ground in 3 days would be an understatement. Starting off with an up close and personal tour of the beautiful Pecan Spring Ranch, this historic legacy ranch was founded in 1880 by the great-great grandparents of our very own energy rancher, John Davis. We took a side trip to Eden, Texas to hear from Tony Lozano, the School Board President of the Eden Consolidated ISD. Lozano shared with our film crew the tremendous impact the Cactus Flats and Maverick Wind Farms have had on the local community by enhancing the school district's operations and resources. Next we headed off to the Menard Volunteer Fire Department to witness Apex Clean Energy making a contribution to the local volunteer fire department. The donation is a tangible example of Apex investing in the communities where they operate. Needless to say, the local volunteer firefighters were extremely grateful for the donation as it represents about 20% of the department's annual budget. We stopped by The Menard Station, a local community gathering place recently launched by John Davis with the proceeds from his family's partnership with Southern Power. The station serves the community and travelers as a Farmer's Market, coffee shop, nature center, meat market, rest stop, dog park and petting zoo. Finally, we finished up our shoot in Hext, Texas with a visit to a utility-scale solar project. Without a doubt, renewable energy is providing an economic lifeline to rural Texas. #txenergy #windenergy #solarpower
