Last week I traveled to Washington DC for the American Nurses Association Membership Assembly as a Member Observer. On Thursday I visited with staff from four legislative offices and completed about 12 drop offs with other offices to #adovate for national nursing issues. Our Texas team had so much fun and had the opportunity to be silly and serious throughout the experience. I was also privileged to reconnect with some of my favorite virtual colleagues, meet new ones, and shake the hands of some of my nursing role models. I’m still reflecting on my key takeaways and lessons learned but the one thing I am sure of is #nurses have the answers. We are #innovators #researchers #educators and #compassionate all essential to fix the healthcare crisis before us. If we let ourselves be devisive, we will remain unchanged. But if we work together we are GREAT and our impact can be greater! Our potential is untapped and I’m ready to support the movement to advance our profession!
