Have you ever met someone who was so focused on casting blame they couldn't get anything done? Did that person suck the energy out of you, or the entire room? It is popular to set goals at the beginning of the new year and last night my family sat down and reviewed everyone's goals. We discussed the successes, failures, and milestones, and set new SMART goals for 2024. Instead of focusing on blame and finger-pointing we calmly discussed all the reasons why our goals were met or failed. Remember, risk and growth inherently involve a chance if failure. Failure is normal. In 2023 I learned to focus on the solution; not the blame. #thinkdifferently #neverstopgrowing

It's encouraging to see iCERT- The Industry Council for Emergency Response Technologies and other organizations advocating for the use of FCC Spectrum Auction revenues to fully fund Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1). With the evolving landscape of emergency communications and the advent of new technologies, this might be the perfect time to reassess what aspects of NG9-1-1 require funding. Since the initial proposal to Congress, there have been significant advancements in technology and progress in the rollout of NG9-1-1 across the country. A new, comprehensive study could be invaluable in determining the most effective use of potential federal funding to realize the original vision of NG9-1-1 and bring our nation's emergency communication systems to the forefront of innovation and efficiency.
