A Phase 2 Ground Investigation (also known as a site investigation) is often the first bit of groundbreaking to be done for a new project, usually after a period of desk-based assessment (Phase 1). The best ground investigations are designed to target areas of geotechnical or environmental concern from the Desk Study, to 'fill in' any gaps with real site data and provide more information for the development design. There are a wealth of different ground investigation techniques available to use, from simple hand dug pits to complex multi-phased investigations combining several types of drilling, specialist testing, and soil, groundwater and gas sampling and monitoring. Every site is different, and a good consultant tailors their investigation plan to suit the specific needs of the development in hand. FWS has the expertise to undertake the necessary desk study, investigation programmes, remediation design, specification and contract management to help ensure your developments are delivered on time and to budget. The attached photos are from a recent ground investigation in Lincolnshire with Lankelma Ltd undertaking CPT testing - a great technique for the ground conditions and client's requirements at this stage. To take advantage of FWS Consultants Ltd's capabilities and for geotechnical and geo-environmental support either on current projects or pipeline opportunities, don't hesitate to get in touch with one of the team, who will be more than happy to help. Matthew Lakey or Catherine Miller can be contacted either by email (matthew@fwsconsultants.com, catherine@fwsconsultants.com) or by phone (01388 420633) Scotland: Monique Pearce can be contacted either by email (mcuthbert@fwsconsultants.com) or by phone (01355 207778) Yorkshire/Midlands: Brad Hall can be contacted either by email (brad@fwsconsultants.com) or by mobile (07842 442498) or feel free to contact the head office (admin@fwsconsultants.com or 01388 420633) #groundinvestigation #siteinvestigation #drilling #sampling #testing #Geoenvironmental #Geotechnical #Phase2 #contamination #contaminatedland #consultancy #planning #planningpermission

Ever wondered how we ensure pipeline safety and sustainability amidst potential risks? Using GIS technology, we've created maps with MAPOG that identify areas at risk of pipeline-related impacts. Here we address the challenge of pipeline safety and sustainability by leveraging buffers to anticipate potential impacts on surrounding areas due to pipeline-related activities or events. With pipelines transporting substances like oil or gas, understanding which areas might be affected by accidents or nearby construction is crucial for ensuring public safety and environmental protection. We've developed maps that highlight these at-risk zones, empowering stakeholders with insights essential for informed decision-making, proactive risk management, and inclusive engagement in pipeline safety initiatives. 📧 Need assistance?
