Most of the materials used by the fashion, textile, and apparel industry come from farms, forests, or fossil fuels – all of which have a range of environmental and social implications. Launched at the Textile Exchange Conference in October, the Materials Impact Explorer (MIE) is a free, open-source tool designed to help brands understand the location-specific risks linked to their raw material sourcing decisions. The tool provides tailored recommendations on: 🌱 Assess risks 🌱 Understand opportunities for impact reduction 🌱 Supporting local and global sustainability initiatives Today, we have launched the latest risk categories, forests and air pollution, alongside pre-existing categories of climate, freshwater, and biodiversity.
