We’ve teamed up with Fashion for Good to trace textile waste Fashion for Good and Textile Exchange introduce the Tracing Textile Waste Project, a two-year, multi-stakeholder initiative aimed at harmonising data and system capabilities in the reverse supply chain. This project seeks to create alignment through an open-source data template and a glossary of terms. It will establish and validate a standardised framework for collecting and exchanging textile waste data between the point of origin and recyclers. Ultimately, the goal is to provide an industry framework that can be scaled for potential implementation into Global Recycled Standard and Recycled Claim Standard chain of custody requirements and for other recycled supply chains, with the potential for broader application across other recycled supply chains. This initiative represents a crucial step towards a more transparent and sustainable fashion industry. By working together, we can unlock the power of textile waste and create a closed-loop system for a more responsible future. Find out more https://bit.ly/3WelgEr

If this includes the UK please consider looking at Resource Efficient Data. We have mapped the flow of textiles waste from all Councils in England & Wales and have a few years worth of data available. This includes the processors and final destination of textiles. Steve Hooley & I can show you what’s available in a few minutes by online demo. It may help your study. 😀

Sorry to jump in on a more simple request - I'm curating a textile exhibition about Natural fibre and we also tell stories about the future of fashion and textile recycling - Im looking for some of these bales as part of the show to make a big impact.... is there anyone who could tell me more on how I can aquire/borrow some?.... Its part of the New retail show at the NEC in the UK called 'The Good Clothes Show' Im curating the educational exhibition along side.

This is an excellent initiative that has the potential to upscale into a global recycling traceability standard. Collaborations like this will help to move our Sustainable fashion movement forward.

Traceability is an important aspect to be considered in the whole conversion process. Data collection will help collection aggregators and recyclers to focus better.

Textile factories will be keen interested because we don't have idea of products how they are recycled after used by end users.

Exciting development for sustainable fashion! I'm particularly interested in how this framework could be integrated into existing standards like GRS and RCS. This could really help boost transparency and accountability in recycled textile claims.
