🚀 Just a few days left until April 30th, marking the third year since Issue 8 of ASD-STE100 made its debut, and it’s time for some reflections. Over the past three years, nearly 6200 copies have been distributed, averaging 5,85 copies per day (up from 5,24 in the previous Issue 7). 📈 However, the most significant data lies in the percentage of copies requested outside the aerospace and defense domain, reaching 62.2% (up from 54% in Issue 7). The steadily growing interest within universities and the academic world is undoubtedly the primary factor behind this increase, with a significant number of 532 academic institutions across 57 different countries which requested copies of ASD-STE100. 🌍 #Issue8 #anniversary #academicinterests #growth #globalimpact #simplifiedtechnicalenglish #asdste100 #stemg.

General Dynamics Land Systems showing a neat evolution of the 8x8. A few design elements here are interesting: 1. Moving the driver out of the engine compartment zone. The two cooling louvred areas on the upper glacis show the driver position must be back inside the crew compartment. Getting the driver away from the front wheel massively increases crew protection (if not vehicle), & placing them next to the TC improves coordination between the two. 2. A really neat integration of Iron Fist APS. A massive improvement over the Iron Curtain approach trialled on Stryker years ago. Now need the APS tuned to drones & LMs, not just ATGMs & RPG. Even an RPG moves 3x the speed of most UxS. 3. Hybrid electric drive will deliver a great balance between fuel efficiency & power generation whilst maintaining tractive capabilities.
