During a Professional Development Conference, I realized that there was a need for greater ethnic diversity. As a result, I made the decision to take action. Upon reflection, I noted that it can take up to 30 years for certain ethnic foods, such as Sriracha, to become widely accepted and included in mainstream dining options. I believe that we still have a long way to go before other cultural staples, such as chopsticks and rice, become as commonplace as other utensils and dishes. This is an issue of diversity and exclusion that needs to be addressed. #diversityexclusion
