Dear friends and followers Almost every year we hear apocalyptic news about the South Antarctic krill fishery collapse, notably almost all news published in or around CCAMLR annual meeting in Hobart (Australia). This video enlightens important facts that we cant overpass; There is only a 1% fishing quota allowed off the total krill biomass. The fishery is constantly monitored by independent authorities, onboard fishing vessels working in the area. It addresses CCAMLR's outstanding "vigilance" backed by decades' of the best research, financed and supported at-sea by the same fishing vessels so much demonized. Science carried out by Governments, universities, research centers and alike. Krill players do have a part of the global climate change. New vessels bring fishing and navigational technologies that lower contaminants to the sea and air. All in all, a virtuous alliance of NGO's, private companies, research centers and CCAMLR. We invited you to see it.

📣‼️The US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has confirmed a #globalcoralbleaching event, the second in the last 10 years. 🌡️🌎Triggered by climate change and El Niño, nearly 54 countries, encompassing over half of the world’s coral areas, are suffering from #higheroceantemperatures. 🪸🆘The loss of #coralreefs could have serious consequences for marine ecosystems and millions of people who depend on them for their livelihoods. #ClimateChange #CoralBleaching #OceanWarming #ElNino #Underwaterlife #MarineLife #Nature #Earth #IndianOcean #AtlanticOcean #PacificOcean

Just a thought given the very interesting image compiled and uploaded today by Copernicus EU on X (see the link) regarding the precipitation anomaly in Greece for 2023. --- In September 2023, Central and Eastern Greece faced an unprecedented disaster. "Storm Daniel and the consequent floods caused damage to over 700 km2 in Greece's central agricultural belt" Copernicus reported (https://lnkd.in/dt-i4drm). Human and animal lives were lost, people were forced to relocate and agricultural land largely destroyed... Anthropogenic #climatechange has made these events more frequent and devastating and will continue to do so. What more needs to be done to take stronger and more decisive ACTION? https://t.co/u2uU6PvBkV https://lnkd.in/diCpYX-b

🔥 Record-breaking ocean temperatures! 🌊 As we witnessed last year unprecedented spikes in global ocean temperatures, driven by human-induced climate change and natural factors like El Niño. The resulting marine heatwaves have had devastating impacts on marine life worldwide. Urgent action is needed to curb emissions and protect our oceans for future generations. #ClimateChange #OceanWarming #ActOnClimate 🌡️🌊

https://lnkd.in/ebHidHsS <<The El Niño event developing in June last year has certainly played a substantial role. El Niño and its partner, La Niña, are opposite ends of a natural oscillation, the El Niño Southern Oscillation, which plays out in the tropical Pacific ocean. This cycle moves heat vertically between the ocean’s deeper waters and the surface. When El Niño arrives, warmer water comes up to the surface. During La Niña, the opposite occurs. You can see the impact of an El Niño on short term temperature spikes clearly, even against a backdrop of strong long-term warming.>> #elnino #ocean #lanina #oscillation #warming #climatechange #ocean
