As you may have seen recently, I’ll be the local keynote speaker at the upcoming High Tech Prayer Breakfast - Atlanta. It’s an exciting opportunity, and if you’ve ever prepared for a major event or presentation, you probably understand the pressure that comes with it! I’ve found this process both challenging and eye-opening. There haven’t been many times where I’ve prepared quite like this. Here are a few lessons I’ve learned that might resonate with you: 1. Preparation invites reflection. What are you preparing for right now where taking a moment to reflect could bring deeper meaning or impact? 2. Influence is an opportunity. How does your current role allow you to positively influence others? Are you fully using that gift to make a difference? 3. We can’t control the outcome. 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲. 𝗡𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘂𝘀. I once worked with a peer who, despite being a good person, always zeroed in on the negative. And I don’t mean offering helpful critiques or playing devil’s advocate. I’m talking about approaching every situation as if the world was out to get them or working against them. That constant cloud of negativity? It drained the team, chipped away at morale, and worse—it set a tone for our culture. This is where hard conversations become non-negotiable. Addressing a "Negative Nancy" can be uncomfortable, but it’s crucial for protecting your team’s energy, productivity, and the overall culture you’re trying to build. So how do you tackle it? 1. Acknowledge the impact – Gently but clearly explain how the negative outlook is affecting the team. 2. Provide perspective – Sometimes negativity is born out of frustration or lack of clarity. Show them the bigger picture. 3. Create a path forward – Help them shift their mindset by focusing on solutions rather than problems. 4. It’s not about labeling someone as “negative,” but about encouraging them to grow into a more productive and positive influence. Amazing session ! Today I have joined an amazing virtual meeting and it was super inspiring. Shout out to all organizers. I have learned a lot and enjoyed every single minute of the conversation. Big Shout out to Chris McMartin and Adrianne Fekete . My takeaways from this wonderful meeting: 1) Feelings are not facts. 2) Do not isolate yourself. 3) Rejection is a Redirection. 4) Be Kind. 5) The things you fear the most, are the things you want them the most. 6) You will get what you tolerate. 7) Raise your standards. 8) self-love, self-talk, self-care🩵

Imagine this: You are at a high-profile event. You see a CEO you admire. You start thinking, how do I introduce myself? No worries, I got you. Here are 3 things to consider before you introduce yourself: 1. Your confidence is key! If you introduce yourself with low self-esteem, people will automatically categorize you in their ‘Not Important’ box in their minds. Please, superstar! You are amazing! Show up that way! Let your value shine through. 2. Know your ask. Ask yourself, 'What exactly am I trying to communicate?' For example: "Hello Mr. X, I liked what you said about ABC. I had a similar experience and started a company to help with ABC." Then state your ASK. (P.S. This is just an example. Context varies.) 3. Remember to breathe: If you introduce yourself and it leads to amazing conversations... GREAT! If it doesn’t, that’s GREAT too! Not everyone is meant for you, and that’s okay. You are amazing, okay?
